I have several offline characters - played in alpha, bought the game now can not play online. Did all the noob crap verifying, files, drivers, etc. I can play offline - and would like to play online before the game launches can anyone help please ?

I don’t know how desperate you are, but try using your phone’s mobile hotspot instead of wired/wireless. Using a VPN might work as well.
