Every time I play, the game seems to crash my Windows Desktop Manager, causing me to have to restart my computer.
I also have an issue when I move to a new zone about 1/3 of the time, the screen goes black and stays that way until I exit and reload the game, causing the above issue

Have you made sure your drivers, system patches etc are all up-to-date?
Have you tried verifying the Steam files (if you are using Steam)?
If you change settings in the game to its lowests etc, does this make a difference?
Is your system overheating or reporting other kinds of potential problems?
When the screen goes black… try disconnecting your speakers before exiting… Sometimes this makes it come back.
