No-sound bug FOUND and SOLVED (workaround)

I started Last Epoch again as usual but I found out I had no sound. But I did have sound in every other application, just not LE.

I tried changing every sound setting, I tried restarting the game, verifying the game cache, reinstalling the game, restarting the computer but still no sound.

My gaming setup has a MONITOR with BUILT IN SOUND aswell as a dedicated SOUND CARD for my headset + microphone.

For some reason Last Epoch had defaulted to using my MONITORS BUILT IN SOUND as source (Probably cuz I have two monitors and had been using the other one the day prior) but since the rest of my computer was defaulted to the audio of the SOUND CARD the sound card had priority so any other sound from any other source was just muted.

I alt+tabbed and manually changed the sound default source in Windows to my SOUND CARD and Voila! I now had sound in game aswell as in every other application.

Solution for Last Epoch devs:
In sound settings; Add a sound device list with all the computers audio output sources so you can choose your own audio output source.

Hey… Welcome to the forums…

Your solution is pretty normal for sound problems - happens often for those of us using HDMI sound passthrough with our monitors AND/OR other sound devices simultaneously for various things. If, like most people, you only have a single sound setup or dont mess with it like we do, then this problem never happens.

But yes… LE should consider incorporating a sound output device drop down in the Sound config to make this easier.
