New Season is horrible

Need to drop more endgame content. We are just pretty much just playing season 2 with all over again with a horrible season 3 system. I have up 4 days in already crashed out.
Go in a rift kill and side boss mob. then bring him out in the Mono then go buy all new season from a vendor so much fun, where the challenge. Act 10 should of been the new end game system, go in the Dino Zone fight mobs in different area to spawn there boss version to get the loot they drop. That a Better season Endgame.

Plus what is a “HUGE thing ill never do again, is play a new season character there no point”. I’m sticking to legacy. I get this game is easy to play fun builds to make, but since we got the new mastery change system last season made every build possible.

There No reason to play season character ever we get no season rewards!
Just sticking to legacy just to try builds faster and no need for campaign every again.
Everyone should play like this and never play Season so we can get a change like how’s it POE 1.
Season player get new content only, season rewards etc.
Legacy play on last season only.
What every came out with lets put everything in both version is dumb. Because this game will be so boring to play if everyone just plays on legacy. Just stepping stone getting ready to play the better games. Sorry but this how I feel about Ranking now are POE 2, POE 1, Torchlight, LE, D4. I bet alot of player will say the same for content. Dont become a lack easy content game or yall be under D4 in the time. Go past your limits, LE

But the point and main enjoyment for a lot of people is not necessarily to make and try a new build as fast as possible, but its about the fresh journey.

Starting fresh with limited ressources, especailly on the crafting end is fun.
Seeing a build progress and develop is fun.

There are people who don’t wanna finish testing abuild within a few minutes or an hours just by respeccing and change some gear.

If you like doing that, great you can do legacy, but that is no reason t opromote nobody should play season anymore, there are plenty of people who genuienly like the fresh journey of a season every now and then.

There is no way in hell I am going to arrange my legacy stash tabs. I will only ever be a seasonal player.

Your argument of, there wasn’t enough endgame content, so I’m going to play legacy so I can complete the lack of endgame content faster is quite frankly absurd.

I dont get it, We have abberoth and uber abberoth, both added in 1.1/1.2

PoE didnt get shaper until 2.4, 3 years after official launch.

Until there there was no end game bosses at all. you just did maps.

Monos = maps

any logic saying “no atlas tree pog” is forgetting the time space in release LE is. We are getting there, but it takes time.

Im so sick of all this focus on end game/pinnacle content, shocker rushing to a boss is boring af too.

They are trying and are building out the horizontal content that is what makes end game fun.

This season is basically metamorph, building your own beastie and giving it the rewards you seek. And thats a perfectly acceptable and fun mechanic to farm?

Gamers: rush to endgame as fast as possible.

Also gamers: “ThErE’s NoThInG tO dO!”

… For endgame we have;
Dungeons
Monoliths
Item Factions
Other Factions
Aberoth
Uber Aberoth
Multiplayer
Arena
A ton of chase items

@DevilsTricks
What EXACTLY do you want to be added to endgame? Specifically.
You stated that endgame should have been dinosaur areas and enemies from act 10? Those were all added to monoliths!

You literally already have exactly what you asked for. Please list some other new specific features you want added to endgame, otherwise this isn’t productive or adding to the discussion.

Leaving my hoarder stash behind is the selling point for me. Sometimes, you need to make a clear cut…

Damn dude, I do agree that the season sucks but for different motives. You are simply one of those people that forgot games were made for fun not for rewards. Sad.

You could still play new builds, you just wouldnt be reset.

I think it’s a very good season! Then again I am playing on a brand new PC, lol

I think the point of the seasons is more that Last Epoch currently doesn’t have a real seasonal progression system, rather than what I can actually do in the endgame. Many players, myself included, prefer having defined goals that are rewarded over the course of the season, which usually comes down to skins or titles. Right now, I level up a character, check out the new stuff, and then lose interest after the first run. The challenges/“battle pass” in PoE keep me engaged there for much longer.

You don’t have to understand it, but it’s important in many games. Otherwise the “battle pass” model wouldn’t have become so successful. The effort to implement it is manageable, it can also be monetized, and if someone doesn’t want it, they can just ignore it, so it doesn’t hurt anyone.

That’s why it’s hard for me to understand why this hasn’t been made a priority yet.

tbh its not even close to the metamorph league there was so much more depth to that. this doesnt come close.

the rift mechanic is just a reskined nem system. with different rewards instead of gear. metamorph was very fun to play this rift mechanic is just bland and lazily done. its boring as hell to do

except its not? do you not remember meta?

you put in organs, the organs gave you rewards big gave them attacks.

Thats literally what this is. “Gains 2 heads that spirt fire, drops idols” you give it a body part and you get a reward.

its not like nemesis, nemesis you have 0 choice over it other then banishing it and praying you get a non rippy one.

I think people are just bored of LE and taking it out on the mechanic.

its not a banger, but its not some dreadful experience that would make me quit a game rofl

I enjoyed the new story chapter and equipping Bone Wisp on my lich. Looking forward to equipping Chorus of the Anurok on my druid, and trying out the various other primordial items.

I’m not sure LE is about the endgame so much as testing and refining builds and finding oddball synergies. This game is not Path of Exile and it shouldn’t be. POE and Diablo have goals which are important to them individually; expecting LE to imitate their values by doing a thing they did already doesn’t play to its strengths.

Yep. Reading other people build guides with the goal to replicate them to ‘beat the game’ removes 90% of what is fun for me.

I typically play a new character each season on legacy. For me, the best of both worlds. So I like it this way.

The only I level a season character now is because I will slowly migrate to offline.

Considering the game has only been out fully for a year and a half, there’s plenty to do. Mono’s, Arena, Dungeons, Pinnacle and Uber Aberroth and the other random encounters like Nemeses, Rifts and Cemeteries. What LE needs to prioritise is consistency, which I hope they’ve learned after that long gap between 1.1 and 1.2, and for context everything up to and including 1.4 is supposed to be a permanent addition to the game. They’ve set their stall out, so until then I’m personally not mad we haven’t gotten a “season mechanic” yet, but I hope after then we start seeing stuff like that

First off… OPs notion is nonsensical… but the core that the season is kinda boring still stands, but for entirely different reasons :stuck_out_tongue:

For that you need different builds which fall into the range of enjoyable ones for the respective players though. Which is a very limited commodity overall and since the variety in LE is small especially so there.

Which means content takes a substantially higher position for replay-value since that build variety simply doesn’t exist… but content is not well designed for longevity in LE currently.

Kinda a conundrum.

PoE also didn’t have 100 people working at the company at the time.
PoE also didn’t have decades of ARPG-design presented to them on a silver platter to work off of.
PoE also didn’t have competition which showcased that it can be released in a decent state right away content-wise (Torchlight Infinite is a prime example for a good solid release).

It’s always about the comparison to other games of the genre, it’s obvious that LE is pulling the short straw there… but EHG also released rather then leaving their game in beta-limbo for a while longer… so that’s entirely on them.

Oh come on… that list is a disaster.
Dungeons: Most lackluster bad designed content one can imagine. The mechanics could be good but are implemented in such a atrocious way it’s baffling.
Monoliths are fine.
Item factions are not end-game, it’s auxiliary mechanics and not content.
Aberroth is a single boss with 2 sub-bosses.
Uberroth is Aberroth.
Arena is also designed like crap, even the Grim Dawn Arena experience is more enjoyable and solid… and that already was only enjoyable for a miniscule fraction of players.

One major issue is that any addition to Echos is simply ‘generic’.
Since you cannot decide on layout, mob-type or anything else properly it’s all a amalgam of the totality.
The player agency is missing. LE would do a lot better to copy the way content is tackled from Grim Dawn in that regard as the PoE method they’re using currently just doesn’t handle the situation well enough. Unlike PoE they don’t have the ability to simply dimple around for years while slowly building up as literally nothing else is available to move over to.

Do you actually?
You could collect the types you wanted, keep em however long you wanted and then assemble your own challenge/reward from it.

That’s very different from a progression system like the primordials have. One provides player agency left and right and the other is a single miniscule choice every encounter. It’s much closer to Betrayal in terms of progression then Metamorph… and even in that case still a lot more simplistic comparatively.

I do. And no its not even close to meta at all. Those jars u could keep and use them later if i remember correctly each one gave a different reward.

Yes this is just a reskined version of nem with some tweaks thats it. Difference is it drops craftinf items instead of gear. U empower nemesis u also empower the lineage.

Its literally the same thing reskined with different rewards. Thats why this mechanic is so god damn boring to do. Thats why so many are saying season 3 is just 1.2 season 2 all over again.

If u done the nemesis mechanic u have done the rift beast mechanic theres damn near no Difference other than the rewards

On top of this if ur doing a build that doesnt use any prim items even exalted. Its just 1.2 all over again this season is the blandiest thing EHG could come up with exiled mages id throw in there among this as well

This is what i would compare it to. Imo its not even close to meta
