Mono reset with boss farm items - PLEASE change!

shakes head

Actually, you’d have a 65% chance for a thing to drop in 10 runs at 10% chance. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t not drop it within 20 (88%) or more. As I’m sure d3viant knows & is just raging about being ####ed over by RNG.

I disagree, I don’t think they should be unachievable for “normal” players, ie, not you (and me).

I don’t know. I understand that I will probably never get several items and I can accept this: they are a kind a reward for a stronger investment or skill than mine.
I would like to be able to get everything, but that would make the game far easier or casual, I fear.

Which is why I think 10-15% isn’t an unreasonable value. It’s low enough to likely require quite a few attempts but not so low that unless you’re playing the game “during the day” (instead of for an hour or two every day or so) it’s very unlikely to happen.

That said, the Shade’s ring can go #### itself.

The fact that a a big portion of Uniques and set items (the MoF ones) are target farm able makes them very accessible even for very casual players.

Obviously they might not get every single item they want, but if you focus your effort and limited time to get a few specific ones. This is very achievable IMO.

Even for some that only plays 30 min a day.

I mean, “normal” players will not play in empowered mode.
I already did several times, I found it difficult (obviously and hopefully), stressful and no fun. So 10-15% may be reasonable (I also think so), it will still be 0% for all players who don’t play in empowered mode.

Which one of the 150+ we already got? :stuck_out_tongue:

Want to try Agrentus for the 15% drop item the fragments of the shattered lance, im upto 64 runs and no relic drop.

feels terrible as a game mechanic having to do all that crap again, that many times, for nothing, got the wings on empowered in 2 runs though, go figure.

Not to worry D2r will be my saving grace, september cant come soon enough.

Really LOL? I’ve only just returned to the game but I have 2 of the boots and 5 rings! LOL! What else does he/it drop? or did I miss the point in that he drops it way too often?

I just asked about the % of getting Last steps of the living boots (good to know how rare is wings of argentus too), but I’m totally agree with having “low” drop chances for some BIS items, and I say “low” because 15% is a very high chance compared to meta items in most games. So nothing to argue here

As a literally YEARS of time played in blizzard games (playing their games since Warcraft I), and how they are acting: just remember what they did with warcraft III reforge. I spect nothing from them.
However, this game just born and is awesome full of posibilities if devs keep creating content, seasons and stuff. Can’t wait for multiplayer an 1.0 to start playing with my friends.

There are 5 uniques in total that exclusively drop from Shade.

Ring is the most common item, boots are relatively rare (both of those items are very much like MoF boss items, where one is very common, one is a bit rarer)

The other 3 items have some additional conditions to be able to drop.

I am no blizzard advocate and don’t want to derail the topic.

But i think D2R is actually developed by an external dev team, that already has plenty of “remaster” experience, with several very well received titles.

Warcraft 3 Reforged was done by another external dev and blizzard themselves.

While i don’t like D2 that much, you might have better chances to get a truely “remastered/improved” product.

D2R is going to be very good. If D2 is your cup of tea I believe you will be very happy. This will not be another Warcraft 3 debacle.

isn’t that not true ? with the corruption added we gain more stability.

Short Term killing shades slows down your progression, because the amount of extra timeline stability you get from echoes from the corruption is very small and since the web resets, you need to start from the center again.

So generally, when you reached a high depth inside an exisiting echo web and the individual echoes give you 40-50 timeline stability, clearing those outer echoes is significantly faster, than killing one shade, resetting your echo web and start from depth 0 again.
Also the initial burst timeline stability from killing the shade is only worth ~2 echoes.
Even though the echeos will give you 1-2 more timeline stability at the low depth, it takes a while until you reach the 40-50 timeline stability again.

So as i said in my previous post: Long term it is really benefical, but if you “just want to get the blessing/unqiue” once not resetting your echo web and keep grinding the outer echoes is probably the faster strategy.

If you want to turn it into a zoom zoom rush the mono finish game, FINE. Because that’s what this does, IDGAF about drops anymore (exhalted items ALSO suck, itemization anyone?). I JUST want my chase item in reasonable tries or NO RESET, up to 15 on God Hunter, I have no idea why I keep playing. No idea why NEW players chasing items would either

If you got an item in a “reasonable” time (which will mean very different things to you & @heavy) then they aren’t really chase items are they?

we’ll never see eye to eye, no clue why I even bother, please don’t reply unless you have meaningful contribution, thanks kindly in advance

And you speaking of “meaningful” contributions?

While alot of the underlying sentiment of your statements might contain valueable feedback, the way how you present your feedback is not healthy.

Try to be a little bit nicer and we might have some “meaningful discussions”

I think MoF Boss items are not really “chase items”, with how they system works and how fast they are accessable.
As i already said, there are alot of them and as a player that can’t sink hundreds of horus into the game you might never be able to get all of them.

But if you focus one a few specific ones you can get them guaranteed.

This is not what i would call a chase item.

Sadly, all of the quotes you have highlighted would appear to represent the types of attitude that I was very pleased NOT to see in the LE community when I came here from PoE.

I am super happy that almost everyone I have come across so far here in LE is of a great attitude, pretty adult, and mostly seem to be old school style gamers. It makes for a very pleasant experience surfing the forums, Reddit, and in game.

Grinding for items to me is nothing new, having played games online since the early days of online itself. Having to build back up the points to re run the mono boss seems to me to be just a throw back to normal gaming, unlike most of the “easy mode” games we have now,.

If this type of grind is something that will discourage the more toxic and childish elements from games like PoE from wanting to play LE then that is absolutely brilliant in my view. I’m happy at the moment not having to read their bile. In fact, if that subsection hate the mono resets so much I would say please increase the points required by another 50%…

Sorry, but people who moan about losing an hour or so per farm have never raided in WoW back in the day; or tried to farm raid items in time gated raids as part of a large guild pool drop. Jeez, 25 attempts? I had to wait over 2 months for some items back in the day, raiding 3-4 times a week, several hours per raid. Plus it wasn’t just WoW, most games involved huge long timesinks for farming specialist items. In grown up life, it takes time and effort to work for what you want, not borrowing parents’ money; and it is the struggle and effort that provide the appreciation for that item once you do obtain it. Modern societies youth is already way too full of self entitlement and lack of effort. (Sorry, getting distracted).

If some people can’t grind for a few hours to get one particular drop from one particular boss with a 15% drop chance, then perhaps pokemon would be a better fit, or one of the many p2w “buy it all on day one” games?
