You just want to pick whichever skills you want and have them work 100%. That’s not how a balanced system works. Some skills have restrictions in them when they’re more powerful. Some have cooldowns, some have a higher mana cost which effectively works as a cooldown.
If echoes had a cooldown instead of a high mana cost, would you be here complaining as well?
Either way, I’m really done. Work with the tools the system gives you or don’t. Have fun with your build or don’t. If you want to say it’s EHG’s fault instead of your petulance/need for instant gratification, then do so. Have fun with whichever you pick.
instant gratification, -
|I can’t…
It’s a very slow and boring style of playing this game… nothing else.
And this is only because you have to wait for mana recovery.
ON ANY OTHER BUILD, same crap.
0 fun.
0 chalange.
Just boring.
Fine. That is a fair point. But all that means is that VK isn’t the mastery for your playstyle. I don’t like melee (which is why I always take focus over mana strike on mage), so builds that push me to melee are builds I avoid. Much like I avoid rogue mostly.
This isn’t the fault of the game. It’s just a limitation of what you find fun.
So mana is fine. If you don’t like using the alternatives to get that mana, then VK isn’t for you. Try another mastery.
The game is what you make it.
If it’s slow and boring it’s because that is what YOU have created!
Take a look at some guides, learn the systems, ask questions and then apply what you’ve learnt to make a fun build.
I’ve a melee poison warlock, a 2h sword wielding Vampire rouge and I’m about to do a Van Helsing build. None of those revolve around meta builds but they do revolve around me learning elements of the game and putting them together in a fun way to provide entertainment. If you’re unable to achieve the game it’s because of a few things. The game isn’t for you, you aren’t creative, you don’t understand the variables or you simply don’t want to enjoy the game.
I hope you manage to figure out which way you want to go with this and have fun.
Is there a particular reason you are unwilling to use Vengeance, Rive, Multistrike, or Smite with the Sentinel nodes that grant mana on hit? I was using Rive on my VK, and that was triggering Healing Hands (discounted, but not 0 cost) - that was enough to sustain Void Cleave and Erasing Strike with a 60 mana echo pretty much whenever I wanted.
I think I was actually doing more damage with Rive than Erasing Strike because I had boosted attack speed.
LOL… and not limitation of the game, but mine. WTF !
So, i’m not aloud to have fun with the skills i think looks fun to play, but , lol…
Whatever dude.
Why adding options that aren’t soo bad… right?!
Like, why adding Void Knight that can’t sustain mana, unless is using Vengeance or whatever else.
Why not.
I don’t think you people realize that for actually playing this kind of build… there are only few options… only few items… and only few skills, , in other words… limited play style.
And yet… it’s my fault that i choose to play like this.
Are you so dense… i don’t refuse… i have none viable options but only choose skills that i don’t like…like Rive!.
Even tho i have like 400% ++++++ mana regen… it’s useless.
damn.
Fair enough, I suppose. Rive can be upgraded to do a lot of void damage and guarantee being echoed if you like the echo mechanic. And with only a little investment in attack speed, you could generate 30-40 mana per second.
Void Cleave, Abyssal Echoes, slash slash slash slash, ES, echoed ES, slash slash slash slash, repeat. It looked rad as heck when I did it, and mana wasn’t an issue. Mana regen just isn’t going to power your skills effectively.
