Lost 3 characters and a lot of gear

I had an issue with people hacking my game account and running all my keys, using all my nodes, swapping out my blessings (which I spent about 500-700 hours fixing), and even gear stolen like stymied fate, salt the wound, throne of ambition, and my gear losing enchants…

I hadn’t played in about 8 days and when I logged on all of my characters were gone. Then, after getting on my laptop, 3 came back out of 7-8. I lost stymied fate, atrophy, salt the wound, and throne of ambition on my marksman. Also, I lost the 75% stun chance on my reign of winter.
Someone also respecced most of my build and I had to redo everything.
All of the monoliths had random enchants on my marskman and now I have to redo them all. Sorry if that sounds annoying but I know it’s a hacker because they changed my build and stole something that left a hole in my relics of a four spaced square that was where my throne of ambition was. I took the one off my bladedancer to replace it.
Is it possible to get my characters back? And all the gear I had?

Hello Grevnon,

I’m sorry to hear about this issue. If you’re playing on the live version - 0.8.5f, all saves are locally saved to your PC. Because they’re locally saved to your PC, we don’t have access to those files. However what it sounds like, and what is more likely is you’re facing save file rollbacks by utilizing the saves on various computers without steam cloud syncing properly. Steam cloud keeps previous save states accessible by logging into your steam cloud storage (Link to login to steam cloud storage: Sign In ). For Last Epoch 0.9.0 coming March 9th, you will have the option to play online with the multiplayer beta, which will store progression information on our servers, which will make the experience more consistent across devices without relying on trying to keep local save files up to date.

If you ever believe your account is being hacked, we recommend you update your account password to something completely different, and as secure as you can make it.

If your account did get compromised

I would look into a password manager while you are at it with changing your password

I personally use Bitwarden

Using a different password for every account is one of the golden internet security rules along with 2FA

I use 30 character passwords like this across all accounts except for Bitwarden itself (I use a passphrase that I have hammered down in my head)

!w5@Nk#PP$!BNQw7^N#DZ^uH^JfQC&

There is also

1Password

Keepass 2 or XC (offline/local)
