In this case, both are fine with me, as long as I have access to the monolyte at the start, whether it’s arena or monolyte, or any other system, as long as it gives me the choice.
@Shtrak i put additional timelines as an only endgame expansion, i didn’t put a new system because those would take a lot more development time. I just guessed that the two options would be the same kind of development time.
I would like more feedback on poll to see if there are some other options or if i can refine the current options so i can post the poll to reddit and get a larger audience to vote.
I mean it really wouldn’t take more time to make arena/monolith things. Drop a key when you beat the game. The key doesn’t expire on use. Allows access to scaled content up to like 55 when used. Hardcaps there. Should be all you need, and maybe a global waypoint unlock to the end time.
Granted there would have to be quests for the passives, but they could just have the quest pop up at certain waves. Really not anywhere near as insane as coding entirely new timelines.
i see what you mean but im not sure that it is entirely as easy as it seems messing with quest states and checking for abusable bugs (like double passive points). Actually, as it stands you can level in arena after you unlock your mastery.
I think ill try to make a poll with a few more questions adding softer, less concrete options.
EDIT: here is my second draft for a poll : https://forms.gle/PxBDF2VkQEJKbzB88
I can’t see anything on the new poll. After that I agree, sincerely it should not be so long either that its coded, moreover even if it means repeating to me nobody asks for it now. So after if asking for content in a game is too much I do not know what to do ^^. They can release their after the online we will be very happy or for the release.
But after asking them to work it’s our job I mean. Certain supports them financially for its, developed a game, and the forum exists to formulate ideas. So we’re just doing our share of beta.
try it now
Okay that’s good.
The only option you may have forgotten is the multiple choice ^^
Basically I want to be able to xp at level 1 or I want. But I’m not against new monolyte level or whatever.
I believe that the debate should be more centered on for or against another way of starting its character than with the campaign. That’s all, because at the base it’s the debate, the different means are only ideas.
The first question is: do EHG want the campaign to be the only leveling system? If they say “yes”, case closed. If not, they can brainstorm with us.
So I agree without being. In the sense that they have to listen to their community too, if it’s to do a wolcen, I’m leaving the ship now lol.
He certainly decides, but he must not close all debate, otherwise we are good at what we are, we are beta players, we are there to give them our opinion, and that he takes it into account. We are not just milk cows for their 1000 euro pack. So I think if a majority is for it and it’s a good studio they will, when they have the time, but they will.
They must listen to the community, I agree. But they can’t and mustn’t do all what the community wants. Last Epoch is their game, it’s their vision. We can help make it better, but it still must be compliant with their vision.
And Wolcen, that’s another story. I must admit I love that game. I strongly prefer Last Epoch, but for me Wolcen is very good and close to being a great game. But as I said, that’s another story and another topic.
So its ok, we agree, of course we should not listen to everything from the community, but it may be that a good idea is good to take and turning a deaf ear is not a good idea. But of course, they still have to stay in control of their games.
Regarding wolcen, I am not necessarily saying that it is a bad game, but that it was a scam as we see all the time in the video game industry. We make promises that we can’t keep, we sell dreams, thousands of players buy it and that’s it. it leaves a game not finished, completely disgusting full of bugs. Then after finished listening to the community (now that the dough is cashed) and the only answer is wait for patch. It’s now more than a year after release the game is starting to be good, but for me it has ripped off their community.
You are selling a finished game, not a game to be finished when they have the time and the motivation.
But like cyberpunk, fallout 76, and so on and the best. We sell a game as a kit, which we will patch once the sales money has been collected.
Could you not just check the “quest cleared” boolean or w.e. after they do the specific part of the arena? Sure they would need to bugtest exploits, like making sure the arena one won’t trigger if the main one is in progress, but I mean that’s what the game is released for atm ye?
To be honest the coding of quest rewards and completions is rather simple in most games. Idk if they added some extra steps here, but it doesn’t seem like they’d be necessary.
Maybe its because poe has a custom engine but i remember from POE at Exilecon some devs were talking about how there are 54 different quest states that interact differently based on the order you complete the quests at Act 2. I’m trying not to presume how easy something is.
It took Mike 1-2 weeks to be able to drag stash tabs around (i dont what else he was working on at the time)
The second question is 1 more Endgame Timeline or Arena Leveling.
yes I understood after ^^
In all I answered, I do not know if much else we do and if you have results?
I think it is nice to just see the results. Could you take another peek I added a lot of question about how people play the campaign.
I don’t mind, but I no longer see the poll? could you put it back.
this would be so great, I look forward to leveling and testing cool new characters by fighting through hordes of monsters. the campaign has a lot more walking around and dialog than I’d like after the first 5 playthroughs
maybe make the arena available for leveling, or just some mindless horde mode that gives you the idol slots over time. I’d enjoy that option a ton
Much of the community would love it. Except someone, for some dark reason. But overall a good party wants to see an alternative leveling system.
