Last Epoch: Shattered Omens Patch Notes

People hate nerfs. I remember when WoW was in early stages and Blizzard decided to slow down leveling and announced mechanic where the more you play the less experience will be gained. People hated it. But then devs turned it around by reducing base experience gain and introducing rested experience mechanic.

Dont give these folks time of day mate. Just let them make their choice.

(Also, something sus anyway as they are saying they bought a ton of supporter packs but they have no forum badges)

I bought every package 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3. Besides, if I didn’t buy it, I can’t comment?

Firstly, I want to give a huge shout out and thank you to the devs - it’s clear the sheer volume of time, passion, and effort y’all have put into this game and this update. As a Warpath VK main, I particularly felt you guys absolutely sniped the perfect balance of bringing that build back in line in terms of top-end power without absolutely nerfing the build into the ground or bricking its smooth playability entirely.

My main critique, as many others have mentioned, is my disappointment with the way endgame imprint farming is being nerfed into the ground. I 100% agree with the sentiment that balancing of some kind was needed - the end game loop of blasting Troves over and over without consideration of any other acquisition methods was quite repetitive, and not great for the game. However, I think the solution required enpowering/buffing other acquisition methods, and maybe a less significant nerf of imprints, to give players multiple equally viable options in aquiring multi exalted endgame items. Now, quite literally the only option for even semi-reliable multi T7 farming is running Conquered Tower over and over again, a change that I think every endgame player would agree is significantly less fun.

The only other possibility I could think of is if the dev team intends for us to corrupt items into multi exalted as a final crafting step, which if that is the intention should REALLY be overtly communicated. But even then, that would kill the possibility of Runes of Creation, effectively halving the chances of successfully getting a desired legendary slam. In fact, the reason I stopped playing S3 about a month or two ago after ~400 hours was that the endgame grind of successfully slamming legendaries proved too frustrating far more often than it was fun, so if anything that process needs a buff, not a significant nerf.

Did you fix the death screen infos only working in English?
Did you fix the endless tags in monster names?

Still waiting for the Death Log fix for other languages guys. Not being able to know what killed you and how much damage it caused is very damaging to the experience.

Shattered Dreams : Nerf Notes haha I have never seen so many in a single patch before, wild! Some of those nerfs just straight up not needed whilst leaving in so many unbalanced things hahaha

Also on behalf of all FG players - please just delete this class you obviously hate it lmao!

Bring on the season of the potion spam! Was previously very excited about this season.

Planning out my Keplahan + Jasper’s Searing Pride build now.

Forgeguard is my favorite class fantasy and smelter’s wraith is my favorite big bang skill, so I’m looking forward to the updates!

Still no fix for Roar of the Woodland?

Two things also:

  1. Where’s transmog? You guys had that for season 4 on the original roadmap, and it’s not even mentioned again, unlike skill sigils.

  2. Why is the game only discounted by 20%? You know it’s still only averaging 1-2k players right? Krafton’s purchase was not enough clearly since we had to wait 9 months for season 2 and now 7 months for this.

Ooop, aaaand they murdered him. Glad I was already looking at Throwgue or Fire Aura Spellblade for the season because Abom Necro is now functionally unplayable.

First question on stream asked Mike this and his response seemed to say that this shouldn’t even be a thing. Double T7 should be rare and something you don’t see often, so 3-4 T7 shouldn’t happen.

Someone asked about finding 3-4 LP items and slamming them with T7’s. Mike said should be super rare finding a 3LP item and those items likely will have some T5 affixes on them.

Hope this helps should be timestamped. Looks like double T7 and getting them on Legendary should be something you only see a handful of times a season and 3 T7’s is impossible.

I mean the drop rates were significantly cut and as I mentioned above this won’t happen anymore with the changes.

At first I thought the changes to Spellblade surprised me, especially Flame Reave and supporting spells.

But then I read about the UI changes and those positively surprised me the most. Fixing all the layering issues or moving while clicking inside the UI by. Looking forward to seeing all those in action next week.

It sure is good to see that EHG has learned absolutely nothing from everything that has been going wrong but I guess you no longer need to care because you already scammed everyone into buying your game with false promises and couldn’t even steer the game in one clear direction.

Let’s start with new content. You went and decided that the best thing to do was to add more pinnacle bosses despite having been told a million times that WE DO NOT WANT PINNACLE CONTENT! Stop trying to pander to streamers, they are not going to play your game for more than week and that is a best case scenario.

You also decided to make enemies more powerful now. We were already complaining that there was difficulty spikes with enemies and that every enemy from the majalsa act onwards was too strong but what did you decide to do? let’s make them even stronger because clearly players are not quitting 1 week in as soon as they hit empowered content and give up because they constantly die. They can’t farm gear because there isn’t corruption, they can’t farm grand blessings and they are severely underpowered for what they are fighting, but hey, lets make enemies even harder, especially the ones that were already overpowered because that is exactly what players want.

Also let’s give players a way to reach empowered even faster so they quit even faster! Honestly at this point I think EHG is just doing everything in it’s power to kill the game since they had to sell out the company and they already have the millions in their pocket anyway.

Lastly let’s look at the changes to Necromancer because it’s one of the few that has been consistently treated like garbage by EHG despite them pretending like it’s great.

A few very minor buffs here and there to a couple minions. Nothing that even makes any slight change. Minions are still going to be dying all the time. They are still going to be a joke as far as damage dealing is concerned and guess what, Even the necromancer is still a joke, unable to survive anything because surely the necromancer doesn’t needs to be tanky if they have an army in front of them. Meanwhile they are being hit by every AoE in the game and any penetrating attack and dash attacks.

Tell you what is gonna happen EHG. I am not going to be playing this season (and I’m sure that like me, many more wont, I will be surprised if you have half the numbers this season that you did last). I will not buy your MTX, you do not deserve my money and you still continue to not put out anything good looking anyway so it really isn’t a loss. In fact any money anyone puts down on this is a loss because the game isn’t going to live for very long with how badly you are trying to ruin it, stellar work by the way, the only faster way for you to kill your game is to also make it woke.

If devs don’t want players to have them(and yes saying what was said I count as that), then why are they even in the game.

If they don’t want players to have a way to reliably farm said listed items then stop making content that needs it. Uber and corruption climbing or any form of leaderboard.

Personally I play this game for making my own builds and the crafting system. As I see the imprint change as a form of hurting that I’m personally displeased.

IMO this comes off an attempt to slow down players and try and force retention. Obviously they are not going to revert back at least that’s impression I got after questions asked this last dev stream.

But yeah if imprints are a problem because it bypasses steps (the slog of a grind for “good gear”) where is the removal of guaranteed 1 affix in a slam. But let’s be real that would hurt the casual player who plays a few weeks tops. Imprint dial back was (IMO) purely designed to hinder endgame gear grind. And from previous metrics talked about by devs. Those players are a fraction of the majority of the player base, which apparently means they are at the very least less important.

The exalted imprint nerf is savage. it was borderline impossible to roll a proper double exalted without bricking like 20-30 items prior now its gone from maybe I’ll have it by the end of the season to if I drop one within 200 hrs I’ll be happy with what I got because I’m never getting upgrade to this… Have you guys consulted AI on this one or something. Between that and idol nerfs I’m kinda demotivated as hell now.

You mean LP 3-4? Well I would assume it’s to have “chase items” and maybe you find the one you are looking for every couple seasons. (I assume this is basically the same idea as finding a mirror of kalandra in PoE where most players never find one)

So when you do find it, then it’s very special.

On this note LE does have an item problem and loot doesn’t feel special compared to games like PoE. I know when I’m playing PoE 2 and my loot filter goes crazy it’s a massive dopamine hit and I’m excited to see what I found and what I can trade it for.

Now I’m not saying the changes do that as the loot in LE and economy probably need an overhaul and it’s gonna be a while till we get there. However I’m assuming the Devs want gear to feel special when you find it and for that gear to have value.

As for 3-4 T7 items. I’m not sure if that was ever intended as a possibility. Maybe in the future we could get there if they redesign crafting some so massive currency can be pumped into getting perfect items like PoE.

Me too.

Yea knew this was going to be a hot point. Most of my 2,000 hours are without imprinting so if they removed the mechanic I would be fine. I think it was something that had unintended results and now with the addition of more systems the imprint system doesn’t work.

Well it was stated that players were skipping progression with it. Which is why it was changed.

I think the new additions and corruption will keep people farming and more build options with Idol layouts etc. So I can’t say farming was hurt, it’s possible progression is better even if it doesn’t seem that way.

Well this is just a core game design issue that many games face. PoE 2 has their endgame season coming next to address this. LE is in early development still trying to figure out their endgame loop and making loot and farming exciting. EHG won’t become GGG overnight, they just started expanding their studio.

One of my favorite ARPGs!
