Last Epoch’s Season 4 and Beyond: Expansion, Paradox Classes, and Roadmap

Even worse… they never said “We messed up.” what would be one thing that calm people down. If followed with “We have goals we need to meet and we thought xyz would be a good way to do so. If you have any wishes or non P2W things you want to see ingame tell us about them.”.

Look at this board. EVERYONE (Even I  ) who said “Oh my I messed up there my bad!” or “I acted like a douche there sorry!” was meet with likes to their post on noone was angry anymore or discussions draged on. This is a VERY understaning community arround here and there are plenty of ways to involve it or to get inspiration from it and noone would be mad about it. But it seems like it needs a bigger pair of balss then EHG has grown right now hiding behind meaningless words and making strange descissions or going into cover if things go south.

I played Helldivers 2 only for a short while and weren’t weapon unlocks tied to the BP? BP normaly are pretty bad… let’s look at TL:I who are making money from battlepasses and early class unlocks in those and cosmetics and whatnot. That’s a bad BP. Sure if LE is implementing a BP with nothing intresting in it ppl will spend money on they stay true to their outstanding MTX designs and descissions but make no money with it.

If they add something worthwhile into it ppl could argue about it even more then they are now.

No the idea the poster I answered to. he spoke about guaranteed success with his plans so I want to see him back his guarantee and cover all expanses his idea will cause for sure.

Oh right! True! They unlocked the bonus stage too! :joy:

Yeah, there it was functional, but it was also a dual-system.
You could play in games and open the POIs for the respective currency (and relatively quickly too, plus farming options to speed it up extremely as well) to then unlock them. Or you could pay money.

The only bad monetization part was their cycling MTX which causes FOMO, but otherwise one of the great monetization strats there.
Pay2Progress without actually hindering the player, pure convenience unlocks.

And the recommendation I make is for it to be pure MTX and no in game currency function. With free choice what to unlock first simply.

Fair. And impossible to fulfill, that’s a win for you one way or another :stuck_out_tongue:

What did I just read? What kind of nonsense is this? It’s best to just keep quiet. You have 2.5 people online now, but even that won’t be left. You even have almost no viewers on Twitch. What have you come to and what have you become? Rest in peace, LE.

Instead of buying a p2w class, you could buy any of these for hours of fun

If you want to make money, maybe add more items to the MTX shop? There are only a total of 13 weapons. Only one two-handed axe. How do you think people should spend money on the game?

Criticizing the new plans to make money as a person who has pretty much every supporter pack under the sun, I applaud your input. You clearly are someone who wants to support the studio and have been for a long while, but can’t really find more stuff to spend your money on

Probably been asked already but, If i swap to PlayStation 5. will i have to re-buy the game for it?

Most likely answer, yes because of how differently they operate. I can’t in recent memory think of a game that let you just use another console if you already had the game without cost.

Edit: it being a login type deal though, maybe it will still allow you to use the same account with the supporter purchases you already bought? I guess it depends if they force you to make a new account or not.

This all looks alarming.

You need to buy LE too lmao

I wont jump to conclusion yet, too early. We don`t know anything specific about paid classes.
Also they never said paid classes will be better but different.
Why so much negativity?

I would pay for it if price is reasonable because I enjoy this game. All of you who are so negative be honest and say how much you spent on POE or Diablo? why is that different?
Just trying to be reasonable here and trying to see the whole picture not just part of it…

If you are seeing the whole picture you’d know why people are upset about this, and every person’s reasons why are different.

I’ll try to summarize best I can:

Some people think classes behind paywalls may be P2W, effectively meaning by not buying it you are missing out and giving others an unfair advantage (kind of only applies to ladder really).

Some people think expansions and dlc should be free because EHG’s mission statement and intent was to only charge for MTX.

Some people are ok with paying for anything because they love the game no matter what.

Some people feel like it’s the reaches of Krafton and don’t want to support a publisher who frankly has had a bad reputation before the whole subnautica thing, either ignoring that it also punishes EHG or not caring because they felt EHG sold out.

Some people think the game isn’t in a complete enough state to justify charging for an expansion or class dlc. Whether this is how they feel at release which is what maybe a year away, hard to say.

Some people have been supporting the game based on the idea that content would be free by buying some / all support packs and feel like their support has been diminished.

And some people think that the company staying in business is the responsibility of everyone but them, and invested in the original purchase of the game because the company would function forever without them ever needing to support it, in which case I’d have recommended something complete like grim dawn.

It isn’t only about what we all know, but what we don’t know. Price, function, game state at release, dates, how much Krafton influenced it, short term releases between, etc. so really all anyone can do is react to what we’ve been given based on what we know about the companies involved and the current state of the game.

I think it will very very likely be the same account with all your purchases/progress, but you have to buy the base game again for ps5.

I am 99% sure that is how it will be. But since this is at least 3 seasons out we have to see anyway. I don’t think we will get any detailed informations until its around the corner.

I like what I’ve read so far. I reserve my final judgement for the time after release. See you there.

Tell me more and take my money :+1:

Did I ever say you didn’t? Given I’ve always said LE has a box price.

I bought d4 expecting it to be interesting enough for me to justify buying the expansion. I had last epoch in my game library since ~2018 and literally nothing changed. Now 7 years later they drop news about completely changing their vision of the game and going full p2w route. You can complain about d4 all you want, which won’t change the fact that lastepoch is dead now.

7 years of an unsustainable income strategy. They held out for 7 years waiting for it to turn around while eating the costs each season. When you put it like that it really doesn’t seem that sudden. Sure to us it might feel that way but we don’t get the peek behind the curtain.

Also the change to their income strategy isn’t being implemented for another year, and they are going to be going forward with people saying they won’t support them anymore, and will be eating even more cost.

Looking it at that way they really don’t deserve the personal attacks. They didn’t anyways regardless of the circumstances. They didn’t drop their mission statement because things weren’t profitable enough, but because they weren’t profitable period.

Also 7 years without changing up the content, if true, is a pretty likely culprit for how it got to this point.

What kind of a farce of a roadmap is this? Thinking of it, my deleted satirical roadmap post wasn’t that far from reality
