Still a bad idea. If it was that big of a deal then they should take steps to pevent that. Other say who have bad internet connections or the servers take a shit like last time and not be able to do the new content. Or just don’t have offline mode. All content for cycles should be releast for both cycle versions.

+1, please treat offline cycle the same as online. Some of use prefer playing offline.

That’ll be because they don’t want to do that (they’ve said as much in the past). Why include a thing you don’t want to do as an option?

It wouldn’t be a clean slate if they did that.

Not always & not when they’re giving examples of the stuff they’re going to be doing over the next year or 16 months.

Why? They even said why they’re doing it in the post.

They always said that the first cycle would be 3-4 months, which would be anywhere in the 21 may to 21 june period, or about 2-6 weeks from now. 4-5 is relatively close to the middle of that.

Yes, they said that. However, I was really hoping they’d actually rush it a bit more, since the 3-4 months window would put them in a very risky spot.

Also, “4-5 weeks” is optimistic, unless they actually release the notes/testing today or so. Regardless, it’ll definitely be 3 months and 2 weeks at least, which is still too much.

The problem games have is, once the initial wave dies down, it’s very hard to get a lot of people back. I have no data for ARPGs, but virtually everywhere, retention is some <5%, which might be enough for EHG, but more people means more money, and more money means more content. In my opinion, 3 months+ is just too long a wait for the x.1 patch of a lot of games, unless they were killer on launch.

I guess time will tell, but am definitely worried now.

Besides the one person calling iframes, do we have confirmation of that? I don’t think it’ll have iframes, at best some sort of super-armor. Obviously if they’re adding the dodge is to make bosses more interesting, and I don’t think they’ll balance it around an iframe, I don’t see why this game would be any different.

This just lets traversal skills spec into more utility like buffs, or better traversing. There is almost no way with how the current content is balanced that we’d drop a traversal skill, we still gotta zoom through. Although I do wish they’d let us customize our dodge with something, but that’s just the greed in me talkin’

This. Legacy and cyle are separated. Offline and online cycle should mirror eachother.

They also said they would do a lot of things they are no longer doing. People who play offline should be able to play the game like everyone else. They also payed for the game.

Would you rather have lag & login queues simulated for offline to make it mirror online? Offline is already different due to the nature of the beast.

They can, there’ll just be a bit of a delay on the pinnacle bosses.

Yes, but do you have any particular examples? TBF, they said they weren’t going to do an AH-like trade (I think, see the original bazaar) & I think they said they didn’t want to have a dodge roll mechanic as well.

I won’t be filling out this poll, as I honestly don’t have a strong opinion on any of the questions or “issues” listed. (I play mostly solo/ with friends and don’t care about leaderboards, so it doesn’t really matter to me how other people enjoy the game)

I AM however, very very surprised that the poll isn’t about the dodge roll mechanic. Even just in this thread it’s already a contentious issue, and will deeply affect the game and future design of all encounters. I would think that checking the pulse of the community would be an important metric to consider in whether such a mechanic is even wanted in this game.
