I tend to disagree with mid season bug fixes/nerfs. I’ve been playing every free moment I’ve had since launch, and have one character at 83. I started offline and had to stick with it since I don’t want to spend time rerolling an online character. I feel for regular players; they don’t want to chase the latest fad as balance/nerfs happen mid season. If you were lucky enough to pick a “bugged” build that’s OP, it would feel terrible to login and realize you need to spend a few weeks getting back to where you were. Just for the record, I’m using the fire wraith build, so I’m not even using this one. Let other people have their fun. And maybe before season’s end, i’ll get a chance to pick it up and have a go at a broken build. It’s not a PVP game, so no harm, no foul.
Typical kickstarter developer mentality, get the money from people through kickstarter then nerf the game, blizzard must be paying you guys to do this so we go back to d4 and play the gauntlet.
Yeah, there definitely needs to be some element of CoF that increases gold. Without one it makes MG have way better QoL just for stash tabs. Which is the opposite of what it should be anyway, because theoretically gold should be far less important for a CoF player.
So, only bugs that directly impact on the game will be addressed. Well if this doesn’t hurt the game what will it take ??? The leaderboards are a joke and the resentment from other builds is deafening, and rightfully so.

So, what exactly are you devs doing for CoF players to get gold then? MG people can just sell stuff for gold. Are we supposed to RMT now or just depend on a broken bugged build to push 3k+ corruption to get gold?
Warlock and falconer are breaking the integrity of the game. Please fix the bugs.

There is. Please do. It’s one thing if there’s a very popular build. It’s another if it’s hundreds times better than anything else.
Ward and defense layers need to be seriously looked at. It’s depressing to look at any health based build and it being, without exaggeration, hundreds of times squishier than a ward build.
There is also a lot of uniques and skills that got introduced or changed but are still bugged. There is little point in being excited about new content if it doesn’t work until next cycle. Please fix them ASAP.
There is no vampiric blood node for Profane Veil?
When you max out Vampiric Pool you can consume 10 minions and each gives 4% and simple math means that literally checks out with what you are saying it giving 40%

It’s still a very strong build without the bugs though. Just not crazy enough to go to 2000 corruptions. I am pretty sure can still easily go up to 500-600, which usually means it’s still OP (because devs have said they balance the game around 300c). Most people have no problem with op builds, but if the builds is just simply BROKEN op, people have the right to be upset.
Clearly their priorities are in order
When are you going to fix the constant disconnection from the server? I enter the game, kill a few mobs and get kicked from the server to the game menu. And from what I see on discord, there are a lot of people who have problems with it… you can’t play via VPN either because something is blocking the game and the map is constantly loading.
Fix all bugs, doesn’t matter if they make builds worse. Offer full respec for affected characters.
Why did you nerf the cost of keys with a hammer?
I think refusing to make balance changes no matter what because of an arbitrary principle of it makes no sense.
Clearly it’s not intended that specific classes are orders of magnitude stronger than others.
There’s nothing wrong with fixing something that makes the leaderboard basically meaningless for everything but 2 classes.
Great Update! I hope to never accidentally enter another map ever again, the fact you could accidentally go into other maps and lose your loot was goofy and awkward. Sad to see arena keys just got nerfed and have been selling them for gold for many months. Weird choice, making this change suddenly without prior communication as it likely affects a majority of the community. You basically allowed people to farm gold for 2 weeks from keys and then shut off anyone who was saving keys to sell a little later, or those who are new still getting to that point will feel cheated.
Edit: Please do not allow bugs to persist - This makes it feel like Blizzard is at the helm doing only what degrades the gameplay. It’s OK to let the community know you’re making drastic changes days prior. Like Arena keys… drastic change with 0 communication is nuts, good way to make those Diablo 4 fans feel right at home honestly.
You removed a main way to earn gold for CoF, however you gave us nothing in return… All gold nodes need to have a substantial buff with CoF or give us something as you literally just kneecapped a lot of players. MG meanwhile gets to sell items all day and farm millions.
I’m all for fixing game-exploiting bugs mid-cycle, but not changing balance.
If a build is vastly overpowered because of a bug, the bug needs to be fixed ASAP.
If it is instead overperforming because of a balancing oversight, it’s fair game and should stay that way until the next cycle.
As others have said in this thread already, people that build around bugs (i.e. exploits) should run the risk of it being bricked by a hotfix.
From what I’ve heard, the Profane Veil interaction is indeed bugged and not just the result of an oversight, and should be fixed ASAP in that case.
The nerfing of the CoF doubling XP tomes is unfortunate but fair as MG does not have an equivalent way of generating favor.
Conversely, with the nerfing of the Arena Keys’ selling price, CoF now does not have an equivalent way of generating gold compared to MG’s item selling.
While I do agree that selling Arena Keys shouldn’t be a viable way to generate gold, CoF does need a reliable gold source because of the essential need for stash tabs.
If you do end up fixing game-exploiting bugs or doing major balance changes mid-cycle, you should do so by communicating about it first and giving a timeline so that players can prepare accordingly.
Whatever choice you make, I’ll still support you since you’ve clearly proven that you communicate your reasons and logic regarding changes and listen to players’ feedback, which shows that you want to make a good game. You just need to work out the kinks and get the game going at a nice, sustainable pace.

Edit: I’m asking this as a ward falconer player, it’s not fun, I was having a lot of fun using my own acid flask build, after changing for the meta build everything was lost, I feel like I’m cheating the game and I’m actually playing a Void Knight now, please, just fix the bug. We want health for our lovely game.
In an online game, ladders, broken characters, and broken mechanics (ward) are not fixed.
An excellent choice is to wait 4 months for the patch.
Wish people would stop crying just because something affected them. The fact is, if it affected someone else they wouldn’t care. The Dev’s cannot address every single issue instantly this quick. All I say is good on the Dev’s for being pro active and I look forward to when all classes are as close to equal as humanly possible. Thank you Dev’s for an awesome game.
