There’s no good options really. It’s unfair to nerf skills mid-cycle unless they are literally breaking the game like Dive+Smoke Bomb. ARPGs are never balanced, there’s always one or two OP classes each season.
Any progress on the numerous game crashes?
So what you’re saying is, we’re not gonna make changes, but we’re making unfair changes for the resources we didn’t account for.
They “fixed” stuff that nerfed plenty of builds and killed them already what do you mean?
Same! Gambler’s Fallacy unavailable as Quest reward, and now the Soulfire Dungeon exit is bugged, so can’t get Soul’s Gambler’s Fallacy either… wasted 2 Keys and a reason to play the game until this is fixed, because I really need that item
Agreed. These weird, inconsistent decisions do not paint a good picture for the game’s future.
I dont understand what are these people mad about. Good work EHG, improving the game day by day. Don’t listen to no-lifers that will probably burn out themselves and quit in 2 weeks.
Just wanted to add my voice to this, extremely disappointing changes, the tomes, gold and disgraceful state of balance due to an “unfixed bug” is shameful. Seems most people are not happy with these changes judging from the replies. Let’s see if you’ll do anything about it.
P.S. Most CoF players are broke and MG players are rich in my experience and others according to this thread. Guess it’ll be MG all the way next cycle.
Terrible changes. Nerfing COF exp and gold overall without alternatives.
Searching unique items for name on Bazaar it doesn’t work after patch.
EHG, could you please fix broken prophecies next? (The fact that they don’t give promised rewards relatively often.)
The mindset of “No nerfs, only buffs!” is how we get to Diablo 3 having you deal 100 Billion damage with absolute ease on early tier builds.
So because I held onto my keys they now werent even worth picking up.
Making a change like that - with no lead time, just punishes people unnecessarily - while leaving in place the reward others had for taking advantage of the system.
Do better in the future.
What is gold but to spend on stash tabs and rune of shattering anyway. CoF dont need millions of golds, its literally pointless.
Really feel like you’re doing this backwards.
You won’t do Bug fixes or “balance changes” ( as you call it ) mid cycle because it,
incentivizes players to keep these interactions a secret until the very end of the cycle.
however
- Greatly reduced the sell price of Arena Keys and Arena Keys of Memory
- Arena keys now sell for 175 (from 6500)
- Arena keys now sell for 175 gold (from 6500)
- Arena keys of memory now sell for 265 gold (from 7250)
- This was done to remove the burden of optimal on MG players feeling like they needed to level up CoF and use arena key prophecies to farm gold effectively
…What? It was great how the community shared this around for CoF players so we could earn gold as well. Now we cannot.
So you have a stance on how you like to do things, when you feel like it, and don’t mind walking all over it when you don’t. For that reason alone I think you should revert the key change right away.
Besides the point of not following ur own ideals, excuse me but, there is no fucking way MG players buying uniques for 5-50 million gold carelessly want to level up CoF to use arena keys to farm gold better. But what do I know.
Regardless of MG players already having unholy amounts more access to generating gold than CoF or not before this, with this change now I as a CoF player feel like I need / should really really think about going MG to earn money at a vastly greater rate than I ever could on CoF first before just going CoF? Do you not see this? Really demotivating…
But I really have hope that you can understand and get behind this sentiment.
Love the game.
You could buff the duration of smoke bomb to compensate.
You could cap the number of smoke bombs out on the field. (Or is this not “purely numerical” enough?)
You could make it apply to two smoke bombs per cast, or 3, or whatever allows it to stay sane on the serverside under all conditions.
You could fix the issue that’s allowing people to maintain smoke bombs between echos… which seems like the most obvious solution and I struggle to understand how/why from a technical standpoint that’s really that hard…
My 2c is either you’re balancing classes, builds, and items, across the board, proactively, actively, reactively, regularly … or you’re only doing it during a new cycle. There is no inbetween.
I don’t mind if you’re regularly tweaking stuff. … if EVERYONE were on an even playing field where none of these hyperbroken builds existed, I really wouldn’t care… but I’m watching videos of random marks builds with just straight up static fixed 9k shields obliterating bosses in literally a second, without any smokebomb buff stacking cheese. And I’m sitting here like "oh, and I guess me running around with a half dozen smoke bombs (well below the server impacting threshold from my observations) and having a 2k shield is just … too strong and must be nerfed into oblivion eh?
Feels bad man.
I think you guys need something better than just “Open to feedback” and gauging demand.
I think you need to have an active dialog with your users about what people internally are thinking/saying/planning and how to mesh it with community expectations.
You answered your own question. Also you keep gold when you switch factions.
So freaking annoying in deed!
I was farming keys for gold so I could interact with the Lightless Arbor dungeon more, which requires millions of gold.
what kind of MG player would want to sell keys if they can sell items for millions there’s no gold income in cof
