Last Epoch.exe - Application Error

The game crashes while I’m playing sometime without the error popup and sometime with error popup.

Last Epoch: Last Epoch.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x00007FFCA63F1BBF referenced memory at 0x00000196D37FFFE8. The memory could not be written.

How can I fix this issue?

Naïve question: did you try to check the files’ integrity or to reinstall the game?

Yeah, I check files’ integrity many times and reinstall the game a couple times.

I noticed this crash starts to occur after I choose mastery class.
There’s no problem when I start new game until I killed Emperor’s Remain and choose mastery class then the problem start to happen.

OK. I’m pretty sure the devs would want you player.log file, if you can upload one just after a crash.

Here’s the player.log
Player-prev.log (171.6 KB)

Player.log (163.6 KB)

Not sure which one devs need it.
Thanks for you advice Shtrak.

At the end of player.log, I can see this:
A crash has been intercepted by the crash handler. For call stack and other details, see the latest crash report generated in:

    • C:/Users/User/AppData/Local/Temp/Eleventh Hour Games/Last Epoch/Crashes*

Do you have any file at that location that you could send also?

I hope the devs will be able to analyze them!

Hey there…

The logs look mostly normal up to a certain point… then there are plenty of GPU related errors that point to Direct3D issues trying to create textures and shaders. And then the game is unable to load things into memory and just crashes. These types of errors are usually very common when the GPU cannot handle the game at the settings used, GPU driver issues or corrupted game files…

By the time you get to the mastery choice, you character also starts to use more skills/have more options. The number of mobs (and their special effects/skills) also increase as your character progresses and needs more challenges… All of these factors can increase the games demand on a system…

The game is also beta & unoptimised so it can unneccessarily demand more than it should and because of this, performance related instability can happen if you are not conservative with your settings and limit the game from overloading your system.

From the player.log you are using a GTX 1050 Ti which is on the lower end of the spec so your graphics settings should probably be mostly Very Low with most special features like shadows etc disabled, at 1080p with a framerate limit on max 60, probably less… If its higher, or doesnt have framerate limits enabled etc, then I would guess that this is cause of the issues…

Beyond that, some general things:

  1. Always verify the game files whenever LE does anything odd… Corrupted install is the primary reason for a lot of odd bugs issues that suddenly happen after being fine.

  2. Make sure your GPU driver is up to date and installed using a clean/safe mode process, not just an upgrade. Use DDU or similar if you dont know how to do this.

  3. Make sure your OS is updated and there are no failed patches etc.

  4. Dont run any other applications while testing LE… this includes things like graphical overlays (LE doesnt use Steam overlay right now) or anything else… doesnt matter how irrelevant you think it is… This is especially important on less capable hardware - you dont want anything taking system resources from the game.

Thanks VAPOURFIRE.
There’s no crashing after change graphic to very low
Maybe it’s time to buy a new GPU.

I’m only using a 1060… and the game isnt optimised so dont spend your $$$ just because of LE… … A new GPU in my neck of the woods costs more than I paid when I put together my whole existing PC… :frowning:
