yeah, all waht you guys said is defeneatly right it is just that after building some expectation (bought game becouse there was many comments that it is too easy … that why i decided to play  ) meeting Lagon is like 180 shift in feeling… thats is something that i do not like in games … i would rather be prepared mentaly that “now hard way will start” by slowly increasing dificulity rather than this way … it is nice, it is easy playing for fun… and in the middle of story (lvl 50 is middle strory for me  ) bang!

i have beat lagon with werebear swipe bleeding shred build of my own, yes lagon hit hard.

have you crafted some piece of gear.

yes crafted a lot … but till lagon was focusing on the “fun build” like: minion damage/minon any afix to get them to max… and sudenly seems it is all trash and need to re-build my gear or farm for many hours (which is ok in my opinion if you are at end game lvl 100) to just make a small progress… this feels like a huge balance breach from the subjective point of view where you have someething and just for one part of the game you need to build soemthing new … just to throw it away after that and get back to what you want … looks like artificial way to keep you in game for longer …

what level are you, maybe stat wise you accidently screw ourself without knowing.

when i decided to play epoch i aleardy know he was harder then d4 (d4 is baby one cell game to use) vs last epoch and PoE.

Lagon, in a nutshell:

1a. Ranged ability class: Stay in the center
1b. Melee class: Pick a side
2. Wait for him to rise up and set - that means the channeled beam is coming
3a. Ranged: Move to one side or the other (teleport if you’re slow)
3b. Melee: Move to the opposite side (teleport if you’re slow)
4. Avoid the large circle attack
5. You should be able to tank the quick beam shot (if you can’t, you need more health/ward).

Lagon is actually one of the easier bosses once you memorize the telegraphs.

there was a moment in the game (i belive somewhare around endless empire era) where i started to feel that mobs are stronger, it takes more time to kill and i started to run out becouse i almost being killed and that is an example of what in my opinion is good way to show player that need to adjust (without blocking him). I was able to still progress in game when adjusting statistics… where Lagon is the bad example for me … im stuck… not progressing and the only way what i can do is tedious grind what is not if fact something that i can aford in my life). It is a matter of expectation as till that point i dont see game much harder than Diablo (Path of Exile is different story  )

If I as a Player in his 50s who is bad a boss mechanics can kill him - everyone can. Maybe my 2000 hours in PoE played a role but I doubt it.

You weren’t expecting action in an Action RPG?

hooooooooooooo

i would not call this type of mechanic an action rather a puzzle that need to be solve … but this is subjective as ususal

Dat life though, what is up with everyone who is new to LE just not putting any health on their gear? Its pretty much an ARPG staple to build life or some form of shield.

There is nothing campaign Lagon can do to one-shot you if you have 900 HP and 75 res to cold and lightning. I have face tanked a crit Moonshadow slam (or whatever that is called) with 900 hp which isn’t that hard to get at that point. The only thing that would be able to kill you is if you ran with the waterbeam attack (even standing still and letting it pass through you wouldn’t kill you)

it’s more fun to stack damage and blast all the trash to smithereens?

You can build 0 damage on your gear and still blast through trash most of your early damage comes from skill levels not gear if you built your skills properly.

The game is very much like any ARPG. You need good resistances when doing boss fights, and you need to know mechanics. Lagon is a nightmare. You need very good cold, lightning and stun resist, or high movement speed, in order to dodge waves in second phase. First and third phase is not too bad. Just need to dodge the beam and the moon blast. The pincher slams etc is not too dangerous.

If its the campaign Lagon, I found a sweet spot. Go to the right side of the right tentacle. Its should be safe against the claw and the lightning.

I am not the OP but I am stuck on this campaign boss too. I am lvl 56 so not sure if that is too low or not. So you are saying for the campaign just go as far right as you can and I will be fine (phase 1)?

First and third phase. Was having same issue with my necro minions-only build.

Maybe its the wrong game if you cant handle a screen full of things. Than probably a game like D4 or Torchlight 3 is better for you. But the problem is not really the Lagoon fight. Problem is that LE is pointless before the Lagoon fight. And then comes a straight mechanical fight. you have no preparation before lagoon. Thats one of the main reason why people stuck at him and not the gear. If opponents are all shooting galleries beforehand, then it’s clear that many players will fail if you suddenly have a super mechanical fight where you have to learn things and don’t just brainafk mow everything down.

Plus life gear is very hard to get early in the game. Not sure why that is.

If you are stuck on Lagon here is a check list that will make the fight kind of easy.

Life, 900 HP
Cold and Lightning at %75
Some form of life on hit, regen, or leach.
