What about free trade for magic, rare and unique items with max 1 LP? Endgame would be save from trading while friends can still trade freely with each other.
All I want at the end of the day is free item gifting with friends and that’s it. No restrictions so my pensioner self can gift an item to my friend when he’s back from work or after he’s back from a walk with his dog or whatever. It’s deeply frustrating if I drop something a friend of mine needs and I can’t trade it because he wasn’t there.
It’s not that easy. Once you have this kind of free trading you’ll also have huge groups of “friends” that can now trade with each other as if no restriction were ever put in place.
If you have a small, limited (both time and number) ‘traders’ list.
I brought this up somewhere else. And @Macknum’s touted something like it as well.
I mean most people play with the same people. So make the list cater to that.
You can have 10 friends on your list. And you and they can’t be on any other lists.
They have to be on it for 7 days before they can start trading and anytime you decided to change ‘trader lists.’
I mean there will always be people who try to ‘game’ the system,
But I think this would be a really good start for “unlimited trading” with just these people.
People who are just looking to get a quick free-for-all trade obviously won’t like it because they won’t want to do the 7 day wait.
But if you’ve got a core group you always play with I can’t really fathom a 7 day wait being a big deal. Especially early in a “league.”
I think what EHG needs to clarify, and that I get a sense of from their post, is that what they have come up with is the line where they feel comfortable what they have come up with will limit exploitation, provide the ability to give someone you are in a game with a drop they may need but you do not, not require balancing around trade, encourage actually playing the game instead of the market which would be immediately and cripplingly manipulated from day one. I think anything beyond what will be in 0.9 woul be infinitely exploitable without very convoluted hoops to jump through.
Noone will be happy but here are at least some people who try to came up with a comprmise. I’m up for a discussion and everyone can have their own oppinion np but if i go through all the “why” stuff we talk in circles forever.
So far I’ve seen some good points and a lot of “mE wAn’T tRaDe!” and a lot of “My EpeEn HaTeS tRaDe!” as well as “DROPRATES BRAH!” sprinkeled with some “Is there maybe a middleground?”. I’m all for a middleground but most people are here to just vent as it seems and I do sometimes as well because I feel (and thats not an empiric thing ^^) people talk badly about trade because they want to talk badly about trade.
“complaints” will start no matter WHAT they do. Having complaints isn’t relevant.
The big thing everyone seems have is the very limited trading to who is in your group at the time. Something like the above would widen that both in time and scope but also still adhere to the idea that LE has emphatically stated they will not implement ANY ‘trade system’ that diminishes their one golden rule ‘hunting and finding objects must take precedent.’
to be honest, middle ground would be limited trade like;
dungeon drops and rewards: You can only trade with group
Echo rewards/Echo Boss drops: you can only trade with group or maybe account bound so we can prevent farming for the sake of trade?
Echo zone drops: you can trade freely or maybe limited items trades, like exalts but not rares and whatnot.
If no plans on campaing skipping, you can even put “finishing campaign” as a restriction on trading.
P.S: I always thought crafting materials, runes etc will be account bound so i didn’t think about them.
“Middle Ground” ? What is this, a negotiation? EHG has been really great at facilitating communication and listening to player feedback, sure, that’s true. But that doesn’t mean that they are willing to compromise on a basic tenant of the game.
I’ve played tons and tons of LE. I have been able to get just about every unique in the game multiple times over, sans just a very few that I haven’t really tried for (so that’s on me, not the drop rate.)
If the drop rates remain close to what they are now, no one will ever be complaining about being able to gear their characters or make that special build based on a specific unique. And that’s a wholly different experience than one like PoE where you have to be able to trade in order to do that. And I’m glad LE is remaining true to its design.
For me it’s not so much what can be traded but how. For example the lootfilter isn’t working with the gifting system so it’s time consuming. I play with a friend who has like 0 experience when it somes to builds and what they might need and he gifted me a ton of crap. Nice gesture for sure but a big waste of time.
The zone restriction is okay I never had a problem with that.
The time is the next big issue for me. I only trade with friends and only play MP. If I’m unable to gift a friend an item who was offline when it dropped is always hurting me. Make the item untradeable after you gifted it to an offline friend or whatever but this restriction is the worst part.
When we look at it we have a far worse trading system then D3… that’s maybe okay if they shoer us in loot like D3 did but then again people will be full build in 1-2 days. If they go for a dumped down D3 trade approach with shittier drop rates then D3 thes will have the next construction site on their hands because grinding the same crap for 200h isn’t something a lot of people like these days.
You might stop right there. You oppinion as much as I like it is a you thing and the fact you don’t even try to understand other people… well keep making circles ^^.
It is cool you have every unique but are they 2+ LP?
When you start to farm 3-4 LP uniques and exalts to go with it for your builds, we’ll talk about drop rates then.
They already stated they’ll change the drop rates, so chill. We are just talking discussing. Please do not judge the drop rates till you farm empowered monoliths. I know you’ll have shit loads drop in campaign but there are some absurd items that have so low drop rates, they might be not exist in the game, like some combinations for idols.
I went on and logged in to type how bad of a decision this is because i believe in this game and want to play it in the future. I hope you change your minds at some point.
I had High expectations/hopes for this game but now im backing up.
I understand u want to innovate, but to intentionally ignore KEY mechanics that are nessesary its disturbing. U can’t discover the wheel all from the begining again u know…
Reminds me kind of the umbra development cicle.
All the way up ver 0.5 the game was fine. Then, they Scrap it and developed something else.
as others have pointed out, you are intentionally missing the point in order to try grandstanding. You have the entire quote there, but for some reason you only seem to cherry pick the portion about not playing instead of “play the game attempting to gather the item for yourself”. You know damn well that you are avoiding the truth of the matter.
The item has clear acquisition methods, and you are able to grind that out yourself. But for many people its worth the 25c in early league to just get it from someone else, because its just that strong for starting another character. Lets not mince words here, the item can be self aquired, or you can skip that with trade.
