Intermittent issues logging in (LE-52)

After taking a break from gaming I’ve been trying to get back into LE, however, I’m having significant issues getting into the game.

Over the last week I’ve only been able to log in on two days out of five. Invariably I get an LE-52 error. Sometimes this happens on the Logging in window and sometimes on the Login window.

I’ve also noticed the game has difficulties assigning a region and remains blank.

Looking through the player.log file I can see various failed attempts to connect. The starting point seems to be with:

Curl error 28: Failed to connect to df4fe.playfabapi.com port 443 after 35883 ms: Couldn't connect to server

This seems to be an Azure hosted server. I also noticed, when running a tcpdump during game launch, numerous errors connecting to Microsoft properties…

I can play if I select ‘Offline’ mode from Steam.

Specs:
Tumblweed.
Proton (GE and Experimental)
No VPN

Thoughts?

Unfortunately, this situation persists. I did manage to get into the game yesterday morning but the LE-52 error was back by the afternoon.

Reading through some older posts on Discord it was mentioned this could be a local problem although no details were offered.

Ideally, I’d like to find a solution before April 17th.

Unfortunately, the issue persists. It’s obviously a connectivity issue but I’m not sure where the exact problem is happening.

I’ve been through the recommended steps on the support, as far as they go for Linux, I’ve changed DNS, changed routers, used two different ISP’s, reinstalled the game…

Status:

  1. 9 times out of 10 LE-52 on the Logging-In window.
  2. Sometimes I get as far as the Login window but the regions don’t populate followed by LE-52.
  3. On the rare occasion I do get into the game I either get stuck on the ‘Old Road’ loading screen or immediately lose the connection.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, a network dump shows many issues connecting to Azure servers with significant retransmissions.

Unfortunately, I can’t try a VPN as they all banned/blocked in this country.

Any advice on additional trouble-shooting would be helpful.

Bought LP on Steam yesterday, but couldn’t get online—kept getting the same LE-52 error
spent a little over 2 hours trying to fix the issue, no luck
