Interlude node on Runic Invocation appears to be broken

I have specced into Interlude on Runic Invocation, and I am casting Runic Invocation with Lightning + Fire runes.

I would expect Plasma Blast to cast 2 times. Once from Interlude, and once from Runic Invocation.

Instead, I get 0 Plasma Blast casts. It plays an animation, but fires nothing.

I’m using interlude too, trying to understand the node. It seems only 3 rune invocations work, 1 or 2 rune didn’t work. Some the animation is bugged (like Plasma Blast) or don’t do any damage to mobs.

Is this is intended, maybe the description needs to clarify things?

I don’t see how it could be intended. Prologue says “you need at least one rune” and Interlude says “you need at least 2 runes”, not 3 runes. It seems very clearly intended that it should work with double casting a 2 rune invocation.
