In this game all bosses are Lilith from D4?

Fixed that for you.

Oh, come on! He just went easy on you, we all know that.

lol truth … also, keep in mind in this game you are tanking gods in a few cases. Seems like maybe you should avoid the big attacks instead.

This reminds me of that retaliation build in Grim Dawn and tackling Callagadra where you’d AFK for 20 minutes while it beat on you until it died.

When they ‘fixed’ that, the screams of outrage were hilarious.

oh, you are soo smart…
btw, you did not even understood the point of this thread, like many others…
the question was “are most bosses in LE the sane as Lilith in D4?”…
you do not understand, maybe LE is the only aRPG you played, the fact that melee builds can not really “tank” in this game make them very behind range builds.

Idk man, melee is workin’ pretty good for me rn. I’m both spinning and winning.

Yes, thank you, this is what many people say un-ironically.

I did, I just disagree, they are very different things.

Depends, if you mean, have mechanics, yes.

No, but thanks for continuing to assume that because I disagree with you that I’m either stupid or that my experiences are less than yours. For all you know I’m old enough to be your father & have been gaming since before you were born (or vice versa).

Yes & no. As others have said & you have either not understood or decided that they are stupid & their opinions are thus irrelevant & wrong, have said, in LE you’re not supposed to be able to tank the biggest hits from bosses, like Lagon’s sweeping eye beam. It’s well telegraphed & after it nukes the everlovingcrap out of you, most people/“experienced gamers” think that maybe standing in it is a bad idea, though some try to brute-force the situation & out-tank the beam & good luck to them!

Now, if you’re going to go on a tear about how unbalanced ward is compared to any other defence, then you’d have a point. You’d also have a point about how uneven the access to game-breaking levels of ward is. But if you want to make “but I want to be able to build a tank tank tank enough to survive absolutely everything the game can possibly throw at me so I can just stand there” your hill to die on, then you’re not going to have a good time of it 'cause that’s not how the devs want to make their game.

So good luck with that & try not to assume that everybody else is a window-licking mouthbreather. 'Cause sometimes, the window-licker is you.

Yet, if one really absolutely wants to, they could specialize in Rebuke as a Sentinel, picking Anvil Stance, maybe work with vengeance, using the Retribution passive counter-attack, maybe Flame Burst from Holy Aura, chilling on the Consecrated Ground from Judgement.

If a player really wants to facetank Lagon’s hits, there are some options EHG provided. I am not sure how deep into corruption one can push their luck with that tactic, but it’s one thing on my list to try out at some point. It’s definitely good enough for corruption 100 Lagon, if one has enough eHP to begin with.

This is true, but that does require using a skill slot which is not a trivial opportunity cost. There are ways to get very tanky, especially as a Sentinel. But generally the devs want us to work through boss mechanics.

I just killed Lagon as a level 74 Hammerdin. My stats were as follows:

Health: 1409
Armor: 804
Res: all maxed at 75%
Weapon: 2H Rare (no shield)

The trick is like people have said, look at the patterns and mechanics. The eye will turn red when he is about to shoot his eye beam. Aside from that, avoid his claw slam, the puddle he puts on the ground/waves and you’re golden.

good point, maybe they can favor melee builds to create more easy ward and range builds much less.

Yeah, but I don’t like the idea of every build using ward.

e.g. in Diablo 4 there is an item, Temerity pants, available for all chars, that allow you to create a big barrier(how os called ward there). BUT, if you vhoose that you lose the effects of another pants, e.g. Tibault Will, that allow you to do much more damage.
you see, is about how you want to balance your build.

Even before 1.0 and all the ward craziness paladins have I could facetank lagon at level 75 monos. Last Paladin I did it was a judgement paladin that had about 2k HP and max block. Heck I even face tanked him with a Mana Strike mage pre 1.0.

I don’t understand why your Paladin can’t face tank him. You need to build defense layers not just say “i’m a Paladin therefore I am tanky”. In today’s LE you can get a Paladion to facetank empowered Lagon at 300+ corruption.

And again, melees are not worse than range. Alot people play melee and dont struggle with lagoon, including myself.

Lagoon has only one ability really able to kill you, and thats his eyebeam, and only if you move with the beam or just stand still.

Having a char who can “tank” does not mean you can stand still and just facetank everything. If you expect this, you have to invest alot more in your char than you did currently.

Given the stats you posted you are pretty poorly geared, and still expect that you can tank bosses.

Go full “tank”, invest in block, dodge, parry, high armor and you will actually be able to “tank” ALOT.

don’t forget about that circle he puts on the ground, that thing will own you!

literally skill issue. all attacks are clearly visible, and dodgable, just like liliths.

His paladin has less than 1100 max health at lvl 85 and no ward. Case closed.

Do you want to know more?
