in all those years people complaining about lagon this is the most useless and stupid one ive witnessed.
why not all play rogue and move faster? because not everyone just wants to follow some guide telling them what to do. some people want to try things out or play a certain class. its that simple.
you know whats also simple? lagon.
I know that is simple man, I beat him.during campaign of course and I can beat him in monoloths but is slow cause my Paladin is very clunky… hit few times… move… hit… move… clunky…
my bad, choose melee in this game…
If you can do him but it too slow, you are probably lacking DPS.
Honestly, hitting him a few times and moving is how ranged does it too. It’s just the boss mechanic, he hits pretty hard with his claw slam and you have to avoid the beam thing.
I don’t understand this complaint. This game could probably be improved by adding a baseline dodgeroll, but otherwise we’re just talking about the mechanics inherent to the genre. The boss makes a pile of bad. You are punished if you stand in the bad. Everything is a variation on that. Or are we asking for perfect parries or something?
As a sentinel class you should be able to do the entire unempowered monolith line at 1k health and 50% resistances while doing mechanics. If you like, me didn’t want to bother with mechanics you can still very well attain this by simply getting more stats through farming. You are still very far away from the point where you can’t literally just stat check bosses. If you were talking about melee defenses falling off corruption 400+ or during some T4 dungeon boss mechanics I would agree , but this is not the case.
Get around 1500 hp, cap your resist, and invest either in health regen + health regen % or leech + flat heals. You will be able to tank through everything but eye beam and maybe moon shot depending on your armor. % health stout totems and investing in all 3 mastery’s health nodes will give you a fairly decent health base to work from.
Also don’t forget rebuke. You an have a 2 charge 6 second (3 second duration) invulnerability shield within 20 skill points. It can also heal you. Rebuke is what makes up for any mobility the sentinel lacks.
I got good news for ya bro. Healing Hands - Rahyeh’s Chariot node… so you won’t need Lunge anmore
finally a good tip! that might be indeed helpfull, I will try it, thanks!
There is nothing other to be said. DPC23 stated it as well as it can be stated. Stop trying to make tanks into tanks that do caster damage. It’s a playstyle and that’s it. Pick your style and go with it.
That’s BS. There is no tank that can just tank everything, without having to worry about any fight mechanics. It would trivialize…everything, and everyone would use that as their gear farmer, to equip more fun characters/builds.
Yep. It would be terrible game design.
i killed lagon since start with melee, minion, and spell builds too. idk whats the problem
also you could take Divine Barrer in healing hands too. It is amazing.
I carried someone through Lagon and remembered how they stood next to the tentacle the entire fight and weren’t dodging the mechanics much.
I don’t see where that suggestion was made. It’s a simple trade off. More survivability and less dps. I don’t see it being any simpler than that.
True, but the devs don’t want us to be able to be capable of tanking anything & yes, I know there are some builds that are capable of generating unhealthy amounts of ward, but bringing them in line without making ward useless for everyone else is difficult.
I can understand that. I briefly had 22k ward on my void knight once and I have no idea how I did it. It was the only time I saw it happen.
There are many boss abilities in the game that will indeed one-shot most builds. However they are very well telegraphed.
Don’t stand in the fire.
Keep Physical, Cold, and Lightning Resist so high as possible (75% cap +). Make shure, Crit Avoidance is nearly 100% and Endurance cap 60%, also Block Chance (50%+) if you Play with an Shield is important. (For Lagoon)
Ah Notice: You must fighting the Tentacle left and right and not Lagoon itself ^^
And just stand in his face and hit him until he falls over, that’s not how the bosses in LE are designed, you have to understand your character and the boss to be successful
There’s always going to be stuff that must be avoided. You simply can’t tank anything, otherwise it trivializes everything.
