Idols crafting

Hello together

The crafting system allows us to make items as we want with all possible variations.

Why can’t we have this for idols as well?

So shards for idols etc.

Partly like the rng is you have to wait very long to get the right setups of idols.

I would like to see this implemented.

The devs have said that they want idols to be a chase item (since it’s difficult to get 1 idol with both desired affixes at a decent value) and because they only have 2 stats, crafting would make it too easy to get the desired affixes.

Well thanks for the answer.
But you can make the instability higher or the drop chance for the idol shards more rare.

Yeah, there’s certainly levers you can use to tweak the difficulty of crafting them to add friction but how difficult it becomes depends on how easy the devs want it to be to get the idols & then they might as well just change the drop rates. shrugs

At the end of the day, it’s just a quality of life change. Yeah i mean the crafting system in general is fine for me tho. It was just an idea in my head. The friction at the moment is fair and feels leggit.

Yup, I said the same a while ago, they said no. :frowning:

If they made a change like this there would be so much more complaining about the fracture rate, like there is with gear crafting already.

My recommendation is to remove some of the info from the idols that make them appear to be craftable, like the instability.

I like the idol being drop-only, but my 7 stashes of idols says otherwise :frowning:

RIP :see_no_evil:

Mhm interesting.

Why do people complain about the system? I think the crafts we can make are ok. Of course, higher crafts would be more awesome. Instability sucks sometimes and happens really fast but we get so much shards that i am ok with that.

I’m in complete agreement with you, but just watch chat and look at the many posts on the forum.

Sure i will thank you

There’s something soul-destroying about the sound of a fracture & knowing that you’ll never be able to improve the item.

lol ok

Yea as Llama said, idols are meant to be chase items. I personally would prefer them to stay that way however a rare shard or glyph that you could find off of bosses that could be used to upgrade idols would be pretty cool.

This idea is very nice. It would make sense.

I think an indication that an idol contains rare affix/high implicit would helps a lot in reducing the amount of clutter.

At this point, I am picking all the idols that has no conflicting affix (like physical+poison) so it fills up stashes like crazy.

I know that chasing idols can be frustrating, but I prefer them as chasing items rather than craftable items. Considering that idols have only two affixes, it seems it could be too easy to create an almost ideal idol. I’d prefer being suprised and happy finding one!

That’s what makes it so great! BTW I made a quad T5 item last night for the first time and it wouldn’t be nearly as exciting news if we didn’t have the fracture system.

Yeah I mean we all will have 7 stash tabs for idols(1 general and 6 class). At the end of the day you aren’t going to use them all so you start to spend time weeding out the weaker ones and chase for max rolls. I’ve only gotten a few idols that I felt were extremely good so far.
