I tried to hang on

So many things need fixing its insane…

  • Grouping is a nightmare, I have given away dozens of 3x7 imprints this week and let me tell you. You’re grouping systems are terrible. The resonance system is terrible. MG is trashed.

  • Bugs, omg. Your pushing MTX but none of my MTX loads when I play so I have to redo all of my MTX when I start. I am not alone in this and its ridiculously stupid.

  • Content, months and months of little to no new content. Not even a bug patch. S3 was nothing but bugs and system performance failures.

  • Lack of bug fixing. Since s3 my system, which is an absolute beast has been barely able to load the game, turtle crashes, nem crashes, od crashes, grouping crashes. Its a real mess…

  • New profanity filter, seriously I cant even say damn thats a badass piece to the few players that are left?

  • Your down to less than 2000 active players, do I really need a popup to remind me to spend money after I have already purchased every supporter pack to date?

  • Prophecies, when your running 3 mil favor a day do you know how insanely carpal tunnel that reload system is? I waste an hr a day on that garbage alone. No thanks.

  • Nobody knows who we are, I logged into my systems and gave a shout out to LE, they either laughed or had no idea about the game.

I love LE, I tried hard to make groups and help people and form some kind of community along with countless others but I have lost my faith in you. You clearly could care less.

You’re is a contraction of you are. Your usage of the wrong your is about the only thing I didn’t agree with.

I can only assume with the acquisition and the announcement for PS5 they are too preoccupied to deal with bug fixing. It’s not a good excuse, but it’s the most likely. I’ve played a few games where they coast on changes until a scheduled patch and it never feels good.

Grouping has a few odd quirks like:

memory leaks,

Loading into separate instances of the zones,

some weird inconsistency with being able to gift without the resource (which name escapes me now, and a rarer instance of not being able to gift even with the resource

sometimes not spawning nemesis for one of the players

rift beast shenanigans (I assume built to prevent exploiting) where if a player starts a new rift, then nobody gets credit unless they are also starting a new rift.

Monolith progress

A very weird but easily replicated bug, and so also easier to avoid, but if one player zones anywhere during a group invite it crashes the game for the invitee if they try to warp to a group member. Requires a full relog to fix.

When a player disconnects, the friend list has an absurdly long time to update when they get back on.

The reason this isn’t addressed is it’s mostly just annoying rather than impairing, and I don’t know how many people actually group in this game. I do know it happens; Abby, monos, or to be carried tend to pop up a lot in chat.

That’s a ongoing state since before 1.0, there’s always ‘something’ but the crap they produced and which people told them simply never got fixed.

So many problems with skills. So many mechanical bugs. MG being a complete mechanical mess still. CoF having not gotten the missing scaling methods for the parts of loot which were forgotten seemingly… the only adjustment was boss uniques, and those barely.

It’s not even the most likely thing… it’s just that EHG sadly sucks majorly in fixing their stuff before providing something random new which breaks even more.

Annoying leads to people leaving.
Impairing is a ‘Day 1 fix’ basically. Or well… at least a priority fix, not everything is handled with a hotfix, some fixes take weeks or even months (when the core system needs to be redone commonly).

All of that was known pre-release. We’re quite a bit away from 0.9 by now, aren’t we? It’s baffling how those things haven’t been addressed properly yet.

Pardon my grammar. I had a few beers so I am glad that is the least of it.

I even gave away 5 $50.00 gift cards for LE last Christmas to try to help. Pretty much all of the die hard gamers I know have quit. Just had it. Kud continually crashed at turtle losing everything he had in turtle. Same problem with the MTX. I mean we tried but months of silence with nothing coming and no fixes to these game crippling bugs after you sold out is not a good look.

During the worst of it I lost a perfected 3lp 3x7 blood roost due to stash lag tossed on the ground. That only took like 200 hours to make.

So easy to turn this game around…

  • Fix the big bugs fast since you refuse to have a test server like D3.

  • Start something community or seasonally based. You have what 100 employees and a mega corp now? How hard is it to get 1 gm on to do that every week?

  • Throw in something new every couple months, I mean like literally anything because running 400 troves a day is well boring as all get out.

  • Clean up the prophecy system. Its terribly out of date.

  • Clean up MG, its pointless now with so few people playing.

  • Throw in a clan or guild function.

  • Please for the love of everything make mats auto pickup like bones or add a pet in MTX to do it, I suggested this in D4 and it is a god send and will spur MTX sales plus we get some cool new pets.

  • Increase health bottle auto pickup radius to the same size as bones.

  • Add an armory function.

  • Add some more MTX. Good ones.

  • Post in your forum more often. Again, 100 employees and a mega corp. I am sure you have the resources.

  • Fix the forum bug not showing badges. I am proud of my support of LE.

These are all easy things to fix. I love LE, I think it is an amazing game personally. So much depth in the skills system. Crafting is great but could use more options to decrease failure as it really frustrates a lot of players. I am loaded in 3x7s and 4x7s. I am not an average player but I can see the choke points that they just go that’s it, I have had it. We are all not 10 hour a day players. I am partially retired but most people have jobs and they do not want to work for 6 hours a day after work to brick something endlessly.

Well said Kulze.

Leaderboards and ladders help for players who want to stay exclusive. I get not everyone likes jumping around different seasonal games.

They’ve literally created a post a few weeks ago asking for people to post what their most important ones were because they would go on a bug fixing spree.

They haven’t released bug fixes in the last few weeks because that is how the live service model works and how all games do it:

Release the season, then immediately start working on the important bugs that came up from it. Which means a few bugfixes in the first week, then usually one per week.

Usually around a month of the new league, bug fixes stop coming each week unless they’re really breaking the game, otherwise they’re still fixed, but they’ll be released next season instead.
This is so devs can focus on the next league content instead of having to stop what they’re doing to fix a bug all the time. And also so they don’t have to work around the new code to release those fixes.

This happens with every game, be it EHG, GGG, Blizzard, etc.

So EHG is still working on the bugs. They’ll be a part of the huge section in the patch notes that says “bugfixes”. They just won’t release it until then.

I’m aware of their “scheduled” bug fixing probably being around seasons, which is why I said it probably hasn’t been changed now now. It’s not the first company to delay bug fixes until major updates.

That being said, when your seasons run 3-4 months each, what a disastrous way to manage it. Aside from the fact it reduces drive to play the game, it can put people off from picking it up if they spend time checking the forums (here or steam) before purchase to see what’s up. One could just assume no contact from devs and month long bugs could indicate abandon ware, and even if they didn’t assume that, how many people would be keen to play a game where bugs that are introduced don’t get fixed for months on end?

It’s why bigger companies do regular updates like every 2 weeks for small stuff. Let’s not pretend that when the next update happens there won’t be different bugs, possibly resulting from bug fixes they drop with it.

It’s important to generate new revenue by reaching larger markets, and good for EHG for expanding into PS, but if anyone does their research into how the game is managed I don’t know if it will be the thing that saves the game.

What LE needs more than MTX, new markets, or an expansion is good PR, and it starts with making the current players feeling heard and not ignored for months on end. They may seem like little things, but regular bug fixing goes a long way.

Not really. Just look at PoE. They have lots of patches in the first month, then it basically stops other than for the occasional small fix on something related to that league.

This is mostly because devs work on 2 builds:
The current one players are using, and the extended one with the stuff they’re adding for the next league(s).
This means that fixing a bug needs to be “fixed twice” for both builds, which makes bug fixing slower. Not only that, it increases the chances of creating new bugs with your fix.

So what companies do is “This build is curently mostly stable, so we’ll just start working on bugs on the new build”. Meaning it will only be released on the next major update.
Of course, this does require that the current build is mostly stable and any bugs left over are small ones, which may be annoying to players but aren’t game breaking.

However, this isn’t the case currently with LE. The MTX equip bug should have been fixed already, or at the very least communicated if it’s something that will require longer to do. There are performance issues still with stash tabs in legacy.
Those fixes should be released as soon as they’re fixed, even if it’s only a month before the new season.

But patches mostly drying up halfway through the season is kinda standard in this model simply because it’s more efficient and will even introduce less bugs.

I can’t speak to PoE, couldn’t get into the game. My experience has mostly been through D3 (which admittedly had a game breaking bug they took forever to fix), GW2, and dauntless (before the disaster it became).

Admittedly not indie in any case. In GW2 and dauntless both would do their small patches on Tuesdays (not every Tuesday but it had a definite pattern).

The MTX bug is one that would have been fixed in any of those cases much sooner. It sounds cynical but generally any issue that impacts income gets top priority usually.

The problem I have is are we even half way through this season? The devs haven’t said much of anything in a long time.

Edit: even having a topic in bug reports that would say “these are the known bugs we are working on” would help. Radio silence from devs always sends a concerning message of its own.

I am not familiar with dauntless, but GW2 doesn’t have seasons, it has expansions. Which is a very different business model, including that there is no reset, nor is there a new mechanic every 4 months.

We are way over that. We’re currently almost 4 months into season 3, which means we should expect it to come at any point.
It’s likely this season will be delayed a little because EHG wants to stop having releases on the heels of PoE2’s releases, plus the holiday period which mostly no game wants to release in (because devs usually go on vacations then).

And they kept having the streams with Mike answering the community questions every week. So they haven’t really been silent.

EDIT: Also checked GW2’s patch history and there is very rarely patches every week. Almost always it’s 3-4 weeks between patches. At least for the last year.

You clearly do not play this game. Nothing has been FIXED in 4 months.

Of course not. It’s not like they released 6 patches and several hotfixes since the season started.

Just because your particular issue hasn’t been fixed doesn’t mean nothing was. Hyperbolization doesn’t really help your argument.

You are correct, nothing will help the issue. The gaming community has abandoned this game. Moving on to D5 closed alpha. Thanks for the motivation to do that.

I specifically said not every week. Also I stopped playing GW2 when they started their mini expansions. My experience was when expansions weren’t yearly. They typically had 1 huge rebalancing patch every year, but had events between which usually got the bulk of their big updates, but if something was really bad it was usually fixed by the following Tuesday.

I also don’t think there’s much difference between the 2, particularly when LE has an expansion on the way. GW2 technically had “living seasons” which came every few months, some of which included maps with unique mechanics.
No reset but why does that make a difference when LE seasons don’t provide anything that non season doesn’t also get? If I don’t play season then I also don’t have a reset between seasons.

We are also just at the 3 month mark (Aug 15, - Sept Sept 16 - Oct 15, Oct 16 - nov 15). I genuinely do not expect the new season to start any time soon. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t roll one out until next year, and will probably align with the PS5 release.

I couldn’t watch the streams, the only one I tuned into I saw was like 4 hours long, and I’m not going to spend 4 hours watching someone play a game I could just be playing, hoping they mention something of value. If they are discussing major issues then why can’t they just summarize it onto their own forum? Even just linking the video with tags for what they consider important parts wouldn’t take that much effort. If the video is all important why don’t they link it in their forums?

They really need someone with marketing and PR backgrounds to be the bridge between them as developers and their customers.

If they intended to survive on just MTX, you’d think they would release more of them more often than once every season, and could use those periods to do small bug fixes too.

If they were to stick to the 3-4 month calendar it would be launched at around 15 December, which would mean we would start getting trailers and details about now.
But, as I mentioned, it’s likely they want to finally pull away from the close releases with PoE2 updates. That, along with the upcoming holidays, means we’ll likely have an early January launch.

As for the PS5 release, that is still a long way away. Judd himself said there will still be several season releases before the PS5 release and expansion.

Sadly the forums have been releagated to a sort of background status since launch. Most of their communication is via discord or reddit. The forums have become kinda underused by EHG, which is regrettable.
There have been plenty of announcements on discord (like annoucing streams with interviews of EHG staff) that never made it here.

Sad, but that’s how it is right now.

My understanding was the expansion is way off but the PS5 wasn’t. Rereading it does sound like they will be released together much later. I mean I was giving leniency because I thought they were pushing the ps release, but now I’m even more disappointed lol.

I suppose I could join the discord, and probably will, but I still would prefer to advocate for forums mirroring the important notes. If they can type it out in discord they can copy paste somewhere here as well

Oh yes, I totally agree with that. Pretty much everyone is disappointed with their vanishing from the forums, and some are even pissed about it.

These are the official forums and sometimes they make announcements on discord and/or reddit that never even make it here.
The starting point should always be a new post in the forums and then reddit/discord posts would link to it.

Maybe the new community manager will manage to shift that, but so far it really looks like they completely gave up on the forums.
Even Mike, on his streams, now suggests leaving suggestions on the discord, rather than the forums, which feels pretty telling to me.

:grimacing: That is very weird and concerning. I can to a degree understand not using the steam forums (save for the bug reports), but ignoring these forums is bizarre. I don’t know what the vibe on discord is, but it is not a good look to say “we will listen to these people using our discord more than our own forums”.

I’ll go back to my statement of they really need a PR in-between that maybe doesn’t say stuff like that.

These forums belong to the void now :frowning:
