Great game ruined for some due to unplayable frame drops

Hey guys, I made an account on the forums just to post this since I think it needs to be addressed. I have recently become a huge fan of ARPG’s with Diablo and PoE being my favourites so far. I heard so many good things about this game and thought I would give it a try and see if it lives up to the hype. It very much does live up to it. The graphics, ambiance, storytelling, combat, and progression are all I’ve wanted and more…

I played for a few days and didn’t have much of an issue at all until one day where my FPS just started dropping to around 20 consistently. I firstly thought it was something downloading or my graphics settings… nope. Was it maybe the resolution (I play on 2560x1440p) or vsync… still nope. I tried playing other games and but it only happens on Epoch. Nothing else. Anywhere.

I’ve looked around the internet for a while and found that I’m definitely not the only one with this issue. There have been no solutions anywhere other than “suck it up” or some clickbait videos to get internet clout.

I’ve tried tanking through the drops for a few hours now and I simply cannot for much longer, it consistently gets worse and worse the longer you play. I don’t want to restart my game every 30 minutes because the frames drops become unplayable, but I am forced to because it both makes it extremely difficult to react to attacks and completely ruins my immersion.

I understand that this is most likely quite a difficult issue to fix but I think that me and a lot of other players would gain a lot of clarity if the issue is at the very least addressed by the devs as something they are working to fix. But until that time comes, I don’t think I can play this game anymore,

It’s a shame that such a intricately crafted game has to be ruined for some people (quite a lot actually) by technical issues such as these. If there is any fix whatsoever I would love to know but I highly doubt it seeing everything I have up to now.

(I don’t think it matters but I have an rtx2070 with a core i7 5600x)

I’ve been having a very similar issue starting a few days ago. Prior to this, framerate would drop on entering an echo but recover quickly. Right now, I’m sitting at 15-20 framerate in town and don’t see anything over 20 in echoes; in a chaotic fight situation it’ll drop to single digits. Moved all graphics settings to very low and went through the settings in the NVIDIA control panel that improve performance, and nothing.

I logged in a few minutes ago and was at 60 in town & got excited - but as soon as I went somewhere else, down to sub-20. I’m all out of ideas too.

I did notice that LE is using somewhere around 12-14% CPU on my PC, but much less, 1-3% on my husband’s - and his computer is a couple years older

Mine:
rtx 3060, 32 gig RAM
core i7-13700f
running off an SSD

husband’s:
core i9-9900kf
rtx 2700 super

This happened before I updated NVIDIA drivers, and after. Both show similar memory usage, mine’s a little higher but not significantly.

I hope there’s a fix for this!
