So apparently game ignores whatever graphical settings we set and switches them back to ultra randomly after some loading screens.
As demonstrated on the attached video:
- all settings on very low, but you can see lots of grass and tress around (indicating that in reality some of those settings are high/ultra).
- when i switch a totally unrelated setting of ‘terrain quality’ from ‘very low’ to ‘ultra’ all the grass and foliage disappears (like its supposed to on ‘very low’ and with grass ‘disabled’).
This and similar bugs might be the root cause for majority of fps drops that players experience, since they think they are playing on low settings while in reality their games use ultra settings.
Also despite grass and foliage finally disappearing, after a loading screen or two between monolith maps those settings get reverted back and grass/foliage appears again meaning i have to do the same trick of switching settings back and forth again.
