And my work can impact millions, because I work on supply chains of multinationals. But that isn’t an answer to the go-live question, now is it? I mean, it would be relevant if a WoW patch broke the servers (which btw still happens on expansion launches, with MILLIONS of customers and years of experience) but again, we’re talking about an initial launch.

They did do several stress tests prior to launch. Yes, that was apparently not enough. I assume they expected a lot of kickstarter/EA buyers to not log in straight away today, that’s a psychological parameter, more than a technical one.
We are also only <6h after launch and as far as I’m hearing from friends, the servers are already improving. If I could guarantee a somewhat stable environment within 8h of project launch to my boss, he’ld be handing me sacks of money to handle every single project in our company.

YM Steam Wishlist contains more EA games than finished because I do not. I give money when I think the current product is worth it and I think there is a high probability it will improve in the future, but never do I take that for a certainty. Sometimes you regret it, sometimes you don’t. I probably regret the D4 sticker price more than Wolcen, because atleast that one was a good concept executed badly. D4 is just turning over my pockets to Wall Street alpha bros.
