Double Monolith Lens Prophesy Combination Nerfed?

Basically what the title says - I noticed while playing today that using both the Obscuring Lens of Time (100% reduced chance of monolith events in prophesies) and the Focusing Lens of Time (100% reduced chance of non-monolith events in prophesies) no longer results in only prophesies with no specific content conditions (i.e. exalted mages, nemesis, champions , kill bosses, etc.) and instead now includes monolith-specific fulfillment conditions. Does anyone know if this was an intended change, or an unintended effect in one of the recent updates? I didn’t see anything specifically regarding this in the recent patch notes. Thanks!

I have never tried these specific ones but do know that other specific ones have never worked.

The ones to remove Arena and Dungeon from them works fine, but the lens’ for specific type of weapons (20% per level) have never worked unless that percentage is based on something that is not known. The wording appears to say that if I use one of those lenses then I will guarantee getting those prophecies, but that doesn’t happen.

I actually opened a ticket on the Focusing Lens of Blades last year and appears to still be working the same way. Focusing Lens of Blades

I don’t know how they are calculating it so don’t know if it’s working properly or not. I just never got a response and haven’t seen any changes.

I don’t think it works the way you think it works. I believe they work similar to %increased critical strike, in that they will increase the base value.

That is, each item type prophecy has (let’s say a round number) 10% chance to show up. What the lenses do is increase that chance. So if you have 240% (at level 12), it will increase the chances for that type to 34%. If you have 3, it will increase by 720% or 82% chance.

(Disclaimer again, totally made up base numbers, no idea what the actual base % is).

That’s exactly what I was referring to. If you just take the wording it appears that you will guarantee they will show up, but this has rarely been the case in LE as the devs have certain percentages for chances that we don’t see so we can really never know exactly what those exact increased percentages know unless someone does some datamining or something and gives us the info.

It would be nice to be able to understand it, but I don’t know if that will happen.

I would guess that the odds for each prophecy type are evenly distributed in each region, so it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.

Yes, but that would only be a guess, a good guess to make but a guess none-the-less.

Only if you think that 100% increased chance to crit should guarantee a crit. 100% increased chance to X will double the (base) chance to X while 100% reduced chance to X will set it to 0 unless you have some other % increased chance to X (because they’ll be additive).
