I understand the release notes and roadmap were clear.
But, wow. I have zero motivation to do anything in this game right now. Evade as an addition was great, but should have been in the game from the start. Nemesis? An old POE mechanic used to get people to try to get back in the game. The new bosses? I’m not even sure I can muster the energy to get there.
I’m not really excited about this game anymore. I think EHG has good intentions but with the Tencent investment, they’ve changed their focus to “engagement” vs “fun gameplay.”
Sucks. Such is the progression of all the studios these days.
Yea, I just made a topic about introducing cycle based reward mtx like PoE does, something so small gives a lot of people that push they need to play the content over and over and over.
LE is still very brand new, it took PoE over half a decade before the leagues had any sort of depth. Hell, even D4, which had the entire worlds gdp to work with, released with very little reason to play even if you only played its beta!
Isn’t pushing for endgame the point of this kind of game? Also I fail to see the point of the dodge comment, it wasn’t in the beginning but it’s on cycle 2.
Either this kind of game isn’t for you, or you are hoping for LE to be the new POE. Which won’t happen for a while (+10 years game vs 4 months game), assuming it happens.
Actually, I was hoping the game wouldn’t become like PoE.
I have about 360 hours dumped into LE thus far, so I’m not sure the “Not the game for you” argument applies here.
My ask is this: dump the forced campaign mode and let people level the way they want. Give them access to all the moments (factions for example) in the game that fit their game style. Stop adding gimmicks (nemesis, new boss types, etc) to cycles and just add content. Stop rebalancing classes that were perfectly fine the way they were. Add PvP. Add loot filters stored in Steam/cloud.
In short, add value to the game, not gimmicks.
I literally want the exact opposite of what PoE does because, quite frankly, I hate PoE.
LE, from the start, has always been PoE with a twist. The twist being (besides not being as hard/complex) that they take inspiration from others games (mostly GD) and try to add their own unique ideas into it.
If you place LE on an ARPG spectrum, with D3 at one end (easy and for casuals) and PoE on the other (complex and for hardcore players), LE has always been closer to PoE.
Aren’t nemesis content? You might argue you don’t care about bosses, even though not everyone would agree. But nemesis is adding content.
What would you consider adding content that would please you?
What is content, if not the new Nemesis system, the new Faction and the new Bosses? I’m at a loss.
I didn’t follow the entire balance of all the classes before this cycle, but what do you want? I never played Forge Guard before, but I’m playing it now and it’s fun. Shaman is probably better than before. Did any of your favourite builds get nerfed? Try anything else.
To me, the Nemesis system has been a huge addition to the game.
I’ve been able to get some very nice leveling legendaries during the campaign that has made it so much smoother and fun. Later on, in monoliths, it’s probably going to help even further to upgrade my build with easy legendaries.
I think it’s great.
There are steam reviews of people with thousands of hours saying only bad things about their games. And sorry but your two comments scream “not a game for you” to me.
The “forced campaign” is the absolute best way for people to slowly try the new content. It is also the mean to level up, what do you expect to jump straight into the endgame with every character you make? It is not how it works and I doubt most people would want that.
You already have access to your factions from the very first town. You just need someone to waypoint you there.
Your comment about PvP is what truly tells me this genre is not for you. There is no balance, AT ALL, in builds that deal thousands of damage while players have what, 3k HP? There would be a single class that would win absolutely every fight by attacking from afar or by petrifying enemies. There simple no room for PvP unless by PvP you mean an anarchy room (which no one would play).
I don’t know what to say about Nemesis and Harbingers being “gimmicks”. To me, those are a very small step in the right direction.
The only thing I hear is - Hey why is it not like PoE and why doesn’t has the same amount of content.
Dear PoE fans. A tide raises all ships: PoE for example will take for PoE the faction system of LE and LE has not 10 years of development like PoE. LE is a small company that was created out of a reddit post. It gives something different.
& I think LE is also looking for a solution to short the storyline in a way when you play a second character for a new season - it is also for the leaderboard who is first in killing the new boss.
So each their own but the critics are a bit - we want more and it should have as much stuff as other games have that are already longer out.
Let me add this do harbinger on spirit of fire time zone as mele.
He has dot aura 85% uptime. As mele u regret playing this game. Above 500corruption 2 ticks kills u.
Nice balance EGH punish mele even more beside julra let punish them in to oblivion.
Game is decent just not there cause balance i out of window. They nerf falconer still falconer push above 2k corruption. They nerf word still is a meta ward. Meanwhile they killed marksman only viable for 100corruption new strats. Lich was forgotten that class didn’t have update in years actually it lost a spell just to rub in their face.
Also there is a new meta build Jelkor in the game is called serpent strike and it does not require any unique. Just melts bosses with yellow gear and no skill.
Just surprise no CT player reported this and EGH again is just stunned how that slipped away. They didn’t kill the op builds just made them more accessible.
The balance can’t be found in this game sadly even if they try.
Last thing to add forgeguard still a meme mastery.
Cannot disagree more with everything about this entire comment and the original post.
I genuinely do not get having everything handed to you in order to play again. It’s like deciding to sit down to play monopoly and everyone starts with every property on the board already purchased a hotels on all of them.
Seriously, Tetris with all of the perfect blocks except one filled in and then it starts by dropping the one piece you need to put in to ‘win’ the game.
I’m not sure it’s PoE you dislike so much. I think it might be aRPGs in general.
