Mitigating damage over time is next to impossible, either tone down the damage it does by 100x or give us more options to deal with it other than armor applying to damage over time and less damage taken. When a single tick of a monster’s damage over time does more than lagon’s storm blast when it crits, there’s a massive problem
I have to agree. At least in Omens so far. Once you hit Tier 2 Omens the Raging Skulls from the skeleton mages are absolutely ridiculous. Every Omen spawns against a wall so you have very little space to move to begin with - making these skulls nearly impossible to dodge. Max rez seems to do absolutely nothing. 95% of my deaths have been to this single mechanic. If I didn’t need a certain corruption on an idol to boost my build DPS I’d just skip the mechanic entirely. I hate it.
I suspect AOE builds with good leech probably don’t even notice it. But as a minion player the mechanic is god awful. 6k ward at 100 corruption gets gibbed. 2k HP with 40%+ DR gets gibbed (I realize 2k HP isn’t high, but we’re talking T2 Omens here). The only other thing I ever die to is those fat robot things that jump in the air normally and do an AOE slam - which hurt but are survivable. Except sometimes they have a 2H hammer they swing with almost no telegraph that does 5k+ damage non-crit?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad they’re adding some challenge. LE has long needed some graphical updates and mobs that actually make you think, but it feels like a couple of them have made it through the cracks that are just absolutely over the top.
