Just bought the game today, and already having 5 times crash to the point my PC needs a hard restart. Couldn’t find the error crash log at first 'cause the folder is not exist in AppData. But magically on the 5th crash, the folder showed up.
It seems like this problem is pretty common among players. Hope you can figure out what cause this and fix this problem entirely.
It ruined the experience. I think I’m gonna leave this game to dust till actual fix is implemented. I’m gonna go back to PoE till then.
Verify your game files through Steam - corrupted files can and do cause crashes
Make 100% sure that your system is patched and that you are using the latest drivers for your hardware/bios/graphics cards etc… A quick scan of your Dxdiag shows that your updates & drivers are pretty old and need attention.
Disable any overlays (Steam/Nvidia etc) and make sure that you are not running any other applications while trying to play LE… there are a few seemingly unrelated apps that cause problems with Unity (what LE is developed in) so its best to not use any while playing.
As you know, LE is in beta so there are plenty of performance related instability issues and its recommended that anyone having stability problems be particularly conservative with their configuration - especially when using older hardware (i.e. like yours). Try the following: Temporarily set your in-game settings to 1080p, 60fps framerate limited (not vsync), all settings to very low or disabled… test for stability,… if it stable then I would normally recommend increasing the resolution but in your case, leave it at 1080p. I would next suggest increasing the framelimit but again, based on your setup, I would suggest leaving it on 60fps * you may even want it lower but do not remove the limit. Next, increase the in-game graphics settings one at a time and test… Normally I would suggest no higher than Medium but based on your system spec, I would leave everything on very low for the best chance at decent fps/stability.
Good luck.
edit: What is the SKIM64.EXE that is causing all the crashes at the end of the dxdiag file… Special K Install Manager Software seems a bit problematic…
Hello! thanks for the respond.
I will try all of the above. It also crashes whenever I use multi-monitors. When I’m not using multi monitor it took time way longer to crash.
I’m gonna experimenting all of the advice you gave.
Also, thanks for pointing the SKIM64.EXE, as I’m not familiar with how dxdiag.txt should’ve been read.
SKIM64.EXE stands for Special K MOD. It’s a graphical mod for certain game. After doing some research, it appears the mod was always launched itself to unrelated applications. I have deleted it as I typed this reply.
I will update asap if deleting the mod do some good to the game or not. Thanks again for respond!
I also saw in the error log that the d3d11.dll caused the crash… This is part of DirectX so it could be that when you patch the OS it might be updated…
Also… I see you are running Windows Enterprise… that shouldnt make a difference but it is odd compared to most people playing games and i am not sure if there are particular configurations that may be very specific to the enterprise versions…
edit: re the multimonitors… this could be something to do with fullscreen or windowed fullscreen but you may have to play around with it… I play successfully with two monitors… the game in fullscreen on one with the other showing a browser etc. Obviously this puts more load on a graphics card so its not always a good thing…
