Clarification regarding the affix tier options in loot filter

I’m trying to setup a specific thing in my loot filter and I’m not sure if I’m missing something. If I filter by affix type, in the advanced options there are two additional things I can use to filter:

  1. Affix tier: this seems to filter based on the level of the specific affixes you have chosen, at an individual level. I.e. if I only want to show cold damage and mana, then this option lets me filter out items where at least one of cold damage/mana is not tier 4 or higher.

  2. Total affix tier: this lets me filter based on the sum of tiers of affixes chosen in this option.

What I want to do is specify some a minimum tier for the affixes I want and then set the total affix tier to refer to all the affixes on the item, including ones I didn’t select in the affix list. Is there a way to do this via the total affix tier option, and if not, is there some other way to do this?

I guess I’m confused about why you care about the total sum of all the affixes and not just the ones you’re looking for. I could understand wanting the inverse where you don’t want the item to be filled up entirely with other t4 affixes because they’re harder to remove, but even then I’d pick that item up and chance my luck at some chaos rolls.

If item a was p4 p3 s1 s2 where you cared about the prefixes and item b was p4 p3 s5 s4. It’s just one yolo removal and potentially a chaos away from being a good item.

It’s mostly for putting a filter for gilded crowns with mana and mana taken before health but high other affix tiers, so I can try to push it to tier 21 for ascending. I would also be happy with filtering this specific thing based on forging potential but I can’t see an option for that either. I got a bit annoyed by getting things that had both prefixes but ran out of forging potential before I could get them to 21 total affix tiers.

I also think it’s pretty easy to chaos roll suffixes on some gear slots to something good, so I wouldn’t mind being able to specify prefixes I want and then just have high tier suffixes.

This isn’t related to the topic of the post, but I also would find it useful to be able to specify 3 mods out of a pool of say 10 that I care about, and then also filter for items with an open prefix/suffix. I don’t think this is doable right now is it?

Forging potential is not a fliterable condition and the devs are not planning on adding it (same with LP)

However both of your requests are not achieveable with one rule.
But you could make it work with stacking multiple layered rules of hide and show rules.

:warning: Fractured Crown requires Celestial Helm and not Gilded Crown!

Your Fractured Crown Rule would look like this:
Hide all Exalted Celestial Helmets with 2 Prefixes that are not Damage Dealt to Mana Before Health and Mana
Show/Recolor all Exalted Celestial Helmets with at least 4 affixes of all selected affixes and combined affix Tier of >= X

Celestial Helm Example.xml (6.3 KB)

A personal Note from me: I don’t think this method is ideal for trying to craft Fractured Crown. Since the Celestial Helm needs to be exalted, the amount of Exalted Celestial Helmets that drop is already significantly low. When you are at the point of trying to craft this item, you most likely have the Crafting Mats to try and craft every single Exalted Celestial Helm that drops. A lot of them will fail, but a lot of them will succeed. If you filter so specifically, you will only find one every few hundred hours.

3 out of 10 affixes with open affix slot:
Lets take boots as an example. Lets say you want Boots with the follwing possible affixes:
Movement Speed, Hybrid Health and all Resistances. We can even spin this a bit further and say you only want Boots with at least Hybrid Health + one resistance and not two resistances.

Loot Filter would look like this:
Hide Boots with at least 1 of all undesired affixes
Hide all boots with 2 resistances
Show/Recolor Boots with at least 3 affixes: Movement Speed, Hybrid Health and all resistances. (since we already hidden boots with 2 resistances as suffixes this will only show Hybrid Health + One Resistance)

Thanks for the examples. I see that you can implement essentially arbitrary boolean logic using the priority order and that is very useful, if a bit inconvenient having to make multiple conditions to get one actual condition.

Also, thank you for reminding me to look up the fractured crown base, I did actually waste some currency on exalted gilded crowns. But the celestial helm doesn’t need to be exalted right? I can just seal a t1/2 affix and get the rest to t20/19?

Still, this is very useful. I didn’t think carefully enough about how to get the operations I needed from correctly ordering the filter. It would be very convenient to be able to implement all of this in one condition but that would require adding a NOT operation inside a condition, rather than just having it be a show/hide toggle.

That is a very interesting question and I actually do not know the answer.
@Llama8 might know that. I always assumed it needs exalted affixes.
IIRC Glyph of Despair was added after the change that you need to craft the crown and I never really used it myself.

Oh also, is there an easy way in the filter to tell which mods are prefixes and which are suffixes? To use your method, if I only care about say getting either 2 of a specific set of prefixes or 1 of those prefixes and an empty slot, I have to be careful to not hide any suffix. This seems like a pretty useful option for a weapon for example.

Below the affixes there is always the name of the affix. This tells you if it is a prefix or suffix.

All suffixes are namned “of XYZ” or “of the XYZ”.
While prefixes are Adjective like “Boreal”, “Dexterous”

Also this comes with experience, after a whiel you know what is what.

I’m pretty sure it hust needs the right base, the 2 required affixes and the right total affix count. Sealed modifiers is one way to get it, exalted is the other.
