Changing resolution changes FPS by way more than expected

After the latest patch I wanted to try the game again after 2 years hoping the performance improved. Unfortunately, for me it turned out to be the opposite - I get just 2 FPS (literally) in the starting area. After investigating and playing around with settings I noticed that dropping resolution and restarting improves FPS by an order of magnitude - on 1024x768 I get 160 FPS, on 1280x768 it drops to 70 fps and on 1600x900 it drops to 20 fps, but if I restart with 1720x720 resolution set I easily get 140 FPS.

But then if I set my native resolution of 3440x1440 I drop to 15 FPS in empty zones and 2 in zones with mobs. I checked and VRAM usage is identical on all resolutions. Something funky is going on there and I though this might help developers investigate.

What’s more: switching to lowest resolution and then to 1920x1080 gives me 120 FPS. But switching to 1920x1440 and then back to 1920x1080 and I run 10-15 FPS.

Same to me. But it works well in offline mode. In online mode I have to play with very low settings.
