Censorship

Hello.
I have 1, and only 1 complaint about this game.
There is already a profanity filter, but I feel like the game blocks anything it considers undesirable. In fact the level of censorship is akin to something like penguin club, a game made for toddlers…
There is already a profanity filter in game (which is useless if you’re gonna censor me anyway)
This needs to change. I should be able to say fugg if my profanity filter is off, I should be able to discuss topics you might not want to read, the profanity filter would suffice.

Your censorship is worse than facebook and tiktok combined, please, please lay off a bit.
We’re not all Americans who die if they read the word fuck but are still okay with extreme violence. It makes no sense for an international game.
I sincerely have had comments blocked that wouldn’t be offensive to anyone except for babies who shouldn’t be playing violent games anyway.

Yeah, it would be nice if they re-enabled the ability to turn the filter off.

You got it wrong; it’s a feature.
It’s a game within the game, a cool mise-en-abime.

The goal of this game is to identify which random word in your last sentence (that got blocked off) triggers the censorship. And the reward is to look insane while you’re just testing one word at a time in chat.

…germs?
(silence)
…fallacy?

POTATO?!

This exactly.
Also toes can be easy to step on if they’re very long.

Unfortunately the censorship in this game is the worst of any I’ve ever played.
Whole concepts that aren’t even inherently offensive get filtered.
Yesterday I tried bringing up dunning kruger on the topic of why PoE attracts elitism.
Message blocked.
I mean if I said the N or F word I’d get it, but this is just a ridiculous level of censoring.
Oddly enough it’s only in-game but on the forum I can post whatever i want. shitfuck.

Will reiterate that I absolutely adore this game and am hoping for a very smooth launch with in the 6 digit numbers. Just voicing my concern about this one (not small in public view) aspect.

Do you have some examples of what is banned/undesired?
And why exactly this is a concern for you?

was dunning kruger blocked or did you add some words to that.

Because what it seems like, is that you want to be able to call people idiots , even if you are heavily coding that behind things like saying dunning kruger

Yeah, only very few conversations that mention dunning kruger don’t go downhill pretty fast.

Calling people idiots is generally not censored in chat channels, and is more often covered by the no-harassment policies. What if I’m frustrated at the stupid, idiot quest giver, that won’t complete my quest when I talk to him? Should that be censored to avoid hurting NPC feels?

I tried mentioning it in a discussion about elitism in another game, it wasn’t implied at anyone specific in the chat at that time, nor to offend anyone, concepts like this should be open to speak about.

I just wrote it in global chat, no problem. It’s not the word combination dunning kruger.

Then I don’t know what it was, because the only thing I implied was Dunning Kruger may play a part in why “high complexity” games attract elitist audiences.
Didn’t offend anyone, wasn’t directed at anyone specific, didn’t contain any
“bad” words. Which is even more concerning tbh.

It’s a little much. “Fetish” isn’t even allowed and its related to totems and other shaman / witchdoctor lingo. “Asmongold” isn’t even allowed in chat. Do you want him to make a video about how you hate him? LOL J/k.

I tried to write a message in chat the other day and I think it was blocked from the word chest… when I was talking about something to do with the chest/stash.
