can you still not change your class and you gotta start new character for different sub class?
Gotta reroll
Yes. it says so in the tooltip. Its by game design and I think thats okay
You just have to decide what you want to play. I think it’s fine like that.
i wanna play warlock but i know i will definitely gonna hit a wall and my build gonna suck becuz i dont know how to do builds i got 20k hours+ hours in PoE i still follow build guides its not fun for me playing bad builds only meta builds but i also dont want to play a class i have played already i really wanted warlock
In POE you cant (really) change your skills or points. In LE you can - just experiment with it. In LE I dont follow any guides or builds … thats like someone else is playing the game for me. Like in grim dawn, here in Last Epoch it feels like mostly anything is a good build (as long it somewhat makes sense).
Scouring orbs would beg to differ. Cant change your skills? Does your 6 link seal when you place gems inside? PoE gives you the most freedom of any arpg, we playing the same game?
You have to farm a specific currency to remove skilltree points. As a new player (who doesnt has that currency btw) thats an instant no go but sure. Freedom and stuff right?
i mean its not hard to get that currency on trade league sure it requires a bit of farming but you still can respec everything its probably easier do that instead of making new character in LE
In LE you don’t need to farm. The gold costs for passive respecs are negligible and the skills can also be switched and get to the previous level very fast. You can respec dozens of times while doing the campaign and monos without having to farm anything. The only thing you can’t respec is mastery, but you can still massively change your build within any given one. So yeah, it’s a lot easier to respec in LE than in PoE, especially for casual players.
At a certain point I farm 100 regrets in 2 minutes in PoE. At a certain point I still need hours to get from level 1 back into empowered monoliths. Respeccing in PoE is a joke and VERY player friendly.
Unless you’re SSF or a casual player.
Except your are a new player or dont have a oneshot the hole screen build. Those players exist. Just because you can do this and that in a game doesent mean everyone is capable of doing the same
If you pick to be SSF that’s a choice and only the player is to blame for it. I am a casual PoE player I mostly end up with max 1 mirror worth of equipment before I lose the intrest to play more of the actual PoE league.
Except that in LE you can be SSF and not be penalized for it. You can respec all you want. Also, ending up with 1 mirror currency isn’t a casual player. A casual player will usually not see more than a dozen divines.
Not to mention that in PoE respeccing means switching from following one guide to following a different guide. That is the case for 99% of the players.
LE lets you create your own build, make your own mistakes, correct them with barely any penalty. The only thing you need to create a new character for is a different mastery. But going from level 1 to level 90 you can respec dozens of times as a casual player that barely farms. You can’t do that in PoE.
Show me the casual LE player who has the money to respecc dozens of times while leveling to 90. Or are you talking about removing a point here and there in the skilltree or a full passive tree remake?
I have played casually since buying LE in late September. I have a total of 250h, which is about 10h per week. I have 4.5M gold. I just respeced a level 63 character, fully refunding all 76 passives and spent 30k gold. That means I can fully respec (which is something that doesn’t really happen, you still keep many passives) 150 times more.
It should also be noted that I haven’t really farmed endgame. My highest corruption is 150 or so. I preferred a more horizontal approach of trying different builds with different characters.
That’s fine. I had billions at one point in the past but this isn’t mirroring a new toon with need for stashes and such or ist it a fresh ssf toon? By lvl 63 I’m normaly still broke because i don’t collect much stuff and run it down.
We’re comparing the ease of respecing in LE vs PoE. In PoE you need 30-50 chaos worth of regrets, which you don’t have. In LE you need 30k gold, which is a very reasonable amount even while leveling.
After all, if it’s a new toon and you’re just running it down and not collecting stuff, you definitely don’t have 50 regrets at level 63 either.
LE respec is much easier than PoE’s and lets you try out your builds way more forgivingly. It could use QoL features, like an option not to confirm every passive, or a button to fully respec all passives, but you can definitely change your build midway through the game a few times without much issue.
If you’re just blasting content running for endgame, then you already know the game and know what skills/passives you want, for the most part, so that’s not an issue either.
Last Epoch is pretty forgiving.
If you’re really worried, check Youtube or Maxroll for leveling guides. Use that character to get familiar with the game and then you’ll have a better feeling about how things work.
