We’ve discussed this in other threads too, but I think this is terrible reasoning and design. Why would you expect someone to fight a boss with an aoe build? Why would you expect them to fight hoards with single target skills? And if you want them to use both, why limit them to only 5 skill slots?
These things contradict each other and are bad design decisions. The devs should revisit their approach to this and find a better solution–especially one that doesn’t require a respec system that so many players find so off-putting.
You can use both at the same time, it is just your DECISION (and apparently by EHG so wanted and by quite a few players so appreciated and liked) whether and how much you weight these two alternatives; and more.
→ Since that circumstance is also not particularly difficult to understand, I accuse you or you herewith just “conscious ignorance” [One WON’T understand it or accept/allow it as an argument].
I’m not remotely ignorant of the facts. It’s that the facts of the design are set up in contradictory fashion. I don’t accept it as an argument because it’s a bad argument and defends bad design. I have been very clear about this. It might be your translator causing you an issue.
i’ve been trying to put together his comment for the last 15 minutes or so, and what i think he means to say is to the effect of:
We are denying the possibility of using skills that do single target and aoe damage at the same time, which seems to be what the developers intend and is a popular play-style by quite a few players (unverifiable)
mind you, i still think it’s a bad argument, but also i think something may have gotten lost in translation that made it sound like more of a diss than it was meant to be.
If that were the case, it completely undercuts all this nonsense about “But then you could just switch skills right before the boss!” It still leaves the respec system indefensible.
Some of the skills can be triggered but doesnt need to be in the bar. for example in my current build I use shift to trigger shiruken skill instead of using the skill. this allows me to use shirukens as a little aura or utility instead of a real damaging skill. and because of this I am able to use decoy totem for defensive purposes that just like a little aura or utilty. I think current utility system in this game designed so well that we do not need to change skill system.
