Since the very beginning it always has been the same 4-meta-build BS and i simply have to admit to myself, i am wasting my time with this game. Its not nearly as free in its ability combinations as it claims to be.
So , why do i still play it? Simple and sad answer: The alternatives are even worse. And so that even you, 11 hour game, understand it as well: this is NOT a compliment (considering the obvious bullshit you do, i sadly have to explicitly state this).
STOP “BALANCING” THE GAME AROUND META (IF THERE IS ANY FKING INTENTIONAL BALANCE AT ALL)!
Ill do this and farm the 850k to respecc.

That sounds like there is something severly wrong with your build though. Ward is not the only metric you can soley judge teh tankyness of a character, but with that much ward you can easily survive 300-600 corruption if the rest of the character has a good defensive profile.
Never had this happen so you should do some bug reports on that.
I can see how comparing everything to the meta can lead to a negative mindset, but first and foremost, it never were the same few meta builds . The meta of LE shifted dramatically over the patches.
Also I am here playing non-meta hipster stuff since I started playing the game in April 2019 and I always managed to be very happy and enjoyp all teh endless combinations and push all of my builds far beyond empowered monoliths into the 100’s of corruption.
And what exactly do you mean by that? What balancign decisions were made around the meta? If anything they always brought meta builds down and lifted other builds up.
The only thing right now that is very much balanced around meta from my perspective is Uber Aberroth.
Nothign else in the game requires you to play anything close to meta.
So, to address your complaint about the ‘meta’, I gotta say, this is completely unfounded. I do not follow the meta. My build can be best described as “fire mage good.” Which, if you check my previous complaints on this subreddit, you’ll notice that I openly complained about there not being enough fire uniques for high-level play. How high of a corruption level do you think I’m at? Answer: I regularly complete 250-270 corruption without dying. The answer isn’t that you’re not following “the meta.” The answer is that you’re attempting to play a game that encourages experimentation and optimization without engaging in that experimentation and optimization. Skills cost nothing to respec. Passives, while powerful, are not the end-all, be-all of a build. Try mixing and matching, search for better items to complement your build, and try to learn from your mistakes. The endgame is SUPPOSED to be hard, and from the sounds of it you’re not taking the time to learn anything from your deaths.
Most of the feedback I hear is that Last Epoch is too easy because of power creep…There is simply no way to make an ARPG where players can do all the wrong things and succeed.

I don’t know what build you are playing, but if these are your stats you are doing something VERY VERY wrong.
There is no way anything one shots you at 112 corruption with 5k ward.
That’s a DoT, not a hit so generally only your resists (& sustain) would protect you against it, not your block, dodge, glancing blow or armour (unless you have any if the “armour mitigation applied to DoTs” affix). This particular mob is complained about.
You have ignored the second issue. Skills, that require you to stand still. Which covers 80% of the skills available. So, thats the issue: either meta with auto-targeting / aoe-skills and constant moving or stationary skills. If you are a freaking plate-carrying armor-monster, or you can dodge or whatsoever, thats fine. If you dont have these layers due to class, then balance this! I am just wondering, why the same 5 builds dominated full arena, ladder, meta and cover ~80% of the played builds. Heck, i am struggling with 5k on 115, while a pala aquaintance just finished Aberroth on corrption 300 with a joke of gear in comparison to mine and on lvl 94!

My experience is doing artistic ROFLMAOs. No, srsly, non-meta builds are by definition non-meta because they struggle. In other words, struggling means imbalanced. Not struggling means balanced? Do you get the issue?
