I’m looking at hundreds of streams and there seems to be no one else having issues. When I click enter game after creating character it just loads for 3 minutes then gives this connection error: https://imgur.com/a/JqFLLCx

Happening to me too. Seemed to be pretty random at first, but now I can’t log in at all. My internet is working fine. Other online games I play have no connection issues
I’m not sure this is the same issue, but I’m getting the same error message after being kicked. However, in my case it’s during zone transitions. Notably I’m playing with a friend, and when I got booted I couldn’t join his instance (He had loaded in fine) without immediately getting kicked again, so it seemed as though the zone was corrupted for me. (Ironically on topic).
So not exactly the same thing you’re describing, but at least the same error message…
Editing this for an update. In my case, swapping the server from EU west to US east has fixed the issue. Before, we had a crash every five or at least ten minutes. After swapping, it has worked with no issues for the last 55 minutes.
Same problem here, when ever i try to enter the first hub i loss connection to the game server. After a couple Attempts i get back in the game but in the zone before the keepers camp, flame something
EDIT: tested it with another online character same problem. No Problem with an offline character. I have this problem now for 2 hours
I have this same issue and it began last night 3/26 while changing zones in game. I was kicked out of the game and since then anytime I try to login to the online character I get “You lost connection to the game server.”
I just validated that any new characters result in the same scenario. I see the initial cut scene and then “You lost connection to the game server.” while waiting at the loading screen to The Old Road.
Got around this by switching servers on the login screen for now. Give it a shot until we hear something official. If it’s happening to you across different server selections, that’s a much larger issue…
Nevermind just got in on US West randomly after reloading the game. I tried them so it just seems like you have to keep rotating servers till one sticks and works!
After this initial post:
Nevermind… Short lived. I am right at the point where I need to go back to the Council Chamber from the End of Time and whether I choose to click the portal by Eldar or us the WP in the end of time both result in Lost connection to server and back to being unable to login until I change Region. Then I can get back to End of Time and cannot go to council chamber still. I will try another place once im back in.
I was able to continue to the Council chamber if I went to another location first via Waypoint and then use the new location to go to Council Chamber.

Back to lost conneciton on every server again. it seems instance related. Like im tied to a broken instance for x period of time as it failed during a zone transition each time. Then I am stuck trying to load into that broken instance until it expires at which point a new server triggers a new instance. This works for a while and then I get kicked and repeat lost connection waiting till it clears again.

I did follow this support article and it is not resolving the issue. At this point I can without fail repeat and reproduce the lost connection error. I can get past the issue temporarily but if I attempt zoning into any town/council area in game or try to zone into an instance from those areas I will get lost connection during the loading screen. When this occurs no amount of reattempts to log back in will work. I must fully close the game, then log back in, select a new region, and then if I am lucky it will let me in. If I am unlucky I have to repeat this closure and opening of the game until finally a random region works to let me in. Once in I am typically able to play 1-2 zones worth of the game only to repeat this issue when going back to town to turn in a quest. It is essentially unplayable. I spend more time getting into the game than I get to play the game at this point. THIS IS THE FIRST PATCH I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE!
So this only triggers me to assume it is something buggy within the patch.
I just have to mention that I find EHG’s silence in regards to these disconnects disappointing, bordering on insulting. I understand, and I mean it when I say that, that these kinds of issues are not easy to fix. Different people have different situations and errors, and they may or may not be related at all.
However, similar disconnection Issues have been reported for years now, and during my entire time with the game I have yet to see a single, official response, except for when the game left early access and the servers were understandably completely broken.
A simple “We are aware of the issue and are trying to localize it”, or “These are the fixes you could try that have worked for people in the past” would go a long way in making you feel like you’re being taken seriously. Instead we’re left with combing through the forum and taking random shots in the dark until something fixes the issue for a day or two.

Thank you very much for this. In that case I will have to retract some of my previous criticism and reword it into: “Why didn’t I see this sooner?” This is probably at least 50% my fault though.
And now i cant login to steam anymore when using a vpn, so back to the old problem.
