very dissapointed by this “look at all these freaking super duper awesome items you can get!” oh but you can only use 1 at a time is a big downside i would understand if those items were as strong as 3-4 other items combined but they arent they are just 50% stronger than T7 mod as far i understand
Not really, it makes sense that they have to be limited somehow. Restrictions are usually good in games, means you have a more interesting problem to solve. Really I’m more disappointed that you can just get a guaranteed slam at Julra’s without having to spend any kind of currency or getting like a minus one tier in the rest of the slams or something
Totally agree with limit just one item per char, otherway it will be too overpower.
They said 50-100%. That means that primordials are potentially twice as good as regular uniques. And they can have LP as well.
So if you could equip them without restriction, why would you wear any regular unique at all, if they’re all inferior? Might as well just delete them.
The restriction makes sense. You get to basically choose one stat (for exalted gear) or one effect (for uniques) that you think will actually boost your build a lot. Otherwise it’s not a choice, you just dump everything primordial into your gear and regular uniques, exalteds and sets become obsolete.

Power creep is a real plague for ARPG. I am really relieved to see that a character can equip only one Primordial item.
At most, in my opinion, it should be one unique and one exalted. I fear that this way an exalted primordial will only be used in edge cases and the majority of builds will instead use an exalted unique.
Primordial uniques seem really strong and build enabling. I think it’s fine you can only use 1.
Power Creep and giving players absolutely free reign can be a bad thing in the long run. At first it might be cool, but it severely limits design space fo the devs.
On top of that you don’t even know most of the primordial uniques yet, from the three we have seen so far, they are all very build defining and if you choose to take on of them you commit to that style of build.
And if your builds really does not have any Primordial Unique you can fit in or none of them interests you to build around you can choose to take the Primordial Exalted Item instead.
I think that is the perfect baseline to give players interesting choices.
Limitations does spark creativity and makes people really think about what they want to do instead of brainlessly pump all teh gigastat items onto the build.
T8 affixes are 50-100% more potent than T7 affixes, plus on top of that the T8 will be moved to a second sealed slot, opening up an affix slot again. So the total top end of an item got increases massively. Even without thinking about the absolutely very top end an item could have T5 T5 T5 T5 T3sealed T8 sealed.
There are a lot fo item slots where making space for another affix slot makes the item a lot stronger because many affixes are competing with each other.

I’m not disapointed you can only wear one. I’m dissapointed the devs promote powercreep as a season theme when almost every class and skillcombo is already OP af. Makes no sense to me and no matter how often I look at it it feels like a pretty stupid thing to do.

Atleast getting more generic power to skills that no ”most players” use.
Yeah, I am excited with this addition. It appears on the surface to be a thoughtful gift of player power without overstepping into meme build territory. It feels like an acknowledgement the end goal (corruption wise) has shifted to be higher. I personally am grateful for the limitation.
Otherwise I would have felt like the past accomplishments gear-wise were a complete waste.
What if there isn’t one for your build? Or it competes with another build enabling unique?

Exactly, that was my point to DJ’s "primordial exalteds will be niche edgecases. Unless there are one (or more) primordial unique for each build, which thete won’t be because there are plenty of builds that don’t have build enabling cattle-class uniques.
We don’t know the full list yet. There might well be general purpose uniques as well. Kinda like how the Ring Of royal grandeur Legends Entwined can fit multiple builds.
But my point still stands. If there were no limitations, then you would use that specific build enabling unique, and you’d fill all the other slots with primordial uniques and exalteds.
So yeah, it wouldn’t make 100% of uniques obsolete. Just 99% of them.
At the very least, having a 6 affix exalted with a T8 affix in it would be superior to most legendaries people use to fill their builds.

If you make a bad build in a game as easy and obvious as LE noone can help you anyway.
