40-50fps in monoliths with everything on low

Hello,

I have an rtx 2080 super, I9 12900k, 64gb ram DDR5… I’m running everything on low and i still have 40-50 fps in monoliths. I don’t understand what else I can do to improve my experience. I don’t think my PC is that bad to run the game no? I’ve tried limiting my FPS to 1 below my monitor refresh rate, tried V-sync on and off and nothing seems to do the trick. Did anyone else encounter this and fixed it? Please let me know!

verify the game files on steam
change graphics quality using the “master quality” and select:
very low or high
vertical sync: off
don’t limit the fps in game

GAMEPLAY

damage numbers: off;
hp bar over enemies: off;
hp over minions: off;
auto-compare items: off;
length of item names to: short;

and at the nvidia control panel add the game on the list and change:

vertical sync to: fast
max framerate to: 59
low latency mode: ultra
restart the game after 3-4 hours

Test the game in directx 11 first and if still feels bad try on directx 12

on steam right click the game, and in properties add this to launch options:
-force-d3d12

Control Panel

Why would you suggest him to use low latency: ultra in nvidia settings (on your screenshot) ?.

the intention is to keep the frame time has low has possible, since when you lag the ms will change from 8 to 55, should work better when they optimize the game and nvidia releases the game ready driver for Last Epoch

Lucky you I getting drops to 15FPS and screen freeze 1 s every time I cast an skill. Amazing!.

Ill quote nvidia here: “Latency mode - Ultra: Submits the frame just in time for the GPU to pick it up and start rendering”.
That setting has nothing to do with increasing fps, actually the opposite is happening - to improve responsiveness it further uses your gpu to process frames even faster.

That setting is mostly used in games where fps is not an issue and where you care about input lag and reaction time. For games like Last Epoch that setting is only making things worse because it is hard to get stable fps to begin with, and by using a setting of ultra you tell your gpu to process even more things on top of it to get lower latency.
