2h Phys Rive Void Knight build and alternate options

Current Build: Void Knight, Level 100 (LE Beta 0.9.0g) - Last Epoch Build Planner

New Flame Drinker’s blade makes Phys Rive actually viable.
My favourite melee void knight since the old LizardIRL Vengeance build. That build was my first melee in Last epoch and was how melee should feel like: less aoe but tanky fast and decent damage. This build too is pretty bad in terms of AoE (compared to most other builds) but fairly tanky and deals good damage which makes it feel good.

Void Knight really suffers for capping crit and it being extremely reliant on T5 crit chance from gear slot just feels bad. I feel there should be more support from passives(than just 1 point for 50-60 crit multi) or buffs to skills like Anomaly and void cleave (Also EHG PLS remove the void cleave restriction I cannot go back to awful lunge on my dw/2h spear sentinels).

My current char is reliant on exalted crit chance to cap crit (it should be possible but WOULD NOT RECOMMEND without an exalted crit). Dragonslayer glaive can get the same level of crit without exalted rolls(at the cost of some HP). However remember you also lose Void Cleave (replace with Lunge ewww) and will need to manually cast abyssal echoes.

Theorycrafted Dragonslayer glaive setup: Void Knight, Level 100 (LE Beta 0.9.0g) - Last Epoch Build Planner
Glaive version should also make resists easier, allowing for Suloron’s (buut much lower attack speed). I haven’t been able to test as I don’t have a decent glaive, but would be interested in the performance if anyone has similar gear.
Legendary Last Laugh should also be good but needs crit of course…

Currently I can also swap the crit multi idols for AoE idols and my left ring for a quicksilver coil to make clearing echoes faster.

Void Cleave is the best Sentinel movement skill. Currently it procs Nether coating which may be a bug but is amazing QoL. This also really drains mana but is manageable for Rive(and Vengeance too probably).

T4 Julra Kill

Build can do T4 Arena bosses pretty easily(will share pics/vids)

Hi, i’m using a similar build.
I think you should swap your weapon to a Bardiche (2h Axe) in order to maximize your damage.
The suffixes you want are Melee critical strike (mandatory as you stated), attack speed (mandatory as well imho to maximize ailments applied and therefore phys penetration), armor shred (at T5 it can get up to 280% and is doubled by"Foe Cleaver" node), ignite/bleed/stun chance.
I’m not using abyssal echoes, maybe i should give it a try. Instead i’m using Sigils of hope with ignite chance.
Also i specced void cleave differently, i went towards “Rift Maker”, maxed “Into the Depths” and took “Blazing steel”. I Basically apply ignites and clear all trash in monos just with void cleave (i0m using a +4 void cleave relic though).

Have you tried using the “Assassin’s Sustenance” node in rive? I did but i’m not sure it’s even working…

Yeah, that’s a bug. And you only get the attack speed bonus from it.

Yeah, Bardiche seems like a pretty strong competition to Zwei. I only have a T5 Bardiche though and crit with that struggles.
Oh I think I saw your videos on Youtube, that definitely seems stronger, I’m no math expert but crazy how stacking pen makes 260 flat > 290 flat.
Zwei does get around 30% more attack speed(thanks to its base) tho I’m not sure the penetration implicit gets doubled. But Bardiche definitely a goal to farm for.

Yeah also allows to ditch Paladin and go for Forge guard tree to get more ailment chance (280%).

Yeah, I used that too when I was trying to make T5 crit chance work. This with automatic abyssal felt a bit smoother to me but just my playstyle preference.

I haven’t tried Assassin’s sustenance since IMO it seems kinda unnecessary, as Leech rate in Anomaly is quite strong(leech to full pretty fast) and the only alternative for World eater points is Sorrow and steel(meh).

So you mean the damage to blind isn’t working (this seems really hard to test lol)

Based on my tests from a couple of days ago it isn’t working as intended. It is supposed to be a more/multiplicative bonus but right now it still seems to be an increased/additive one. If anyone is interested in my tests, here’s a summary:

I was also about to say that I see no source for blind in your build. When I tested Myopia (in the Abyssal Echoes tree) it wasn’t working either, it didn’t apply blind. And I haven’t seen any other source for blind in your gear and skills. But I just watched your video and noticed the blind effect on Julra.
So, I had to test it again and for some reason, once you spec into Fiery Chasm, the blind application from Myopia works as expected. Without that node and any other skill setup Myopia does nothing. Weird.

So, I guess you get at least something out of it.

hehe it’s not me but i started from that build.

I’ll definitely try abyssal echoes, but without the node in void cleave… it will make mana management very trivial when i just wanto to use void cleave to dash around.
Also i didn’t notice those passive nodes in the forge guard mastery. look pretty strong!
I’ll let you know!
