Hi Boardman21, nice work as usual, always appreciated.

I would like to preface this reply by saying I don’t have that many hours into the game, and I have mostly followed guides blindly thus far. I did however take my time with this one, and really thought about things I did not understand. Some question might be stupid, and have a simple answer.

Questions about the guide:

  1. Volatile reversal - how come you put points in Ancient reversal. Afaik, the only way this node would be helpful, is to revert time further back to increase hp/mana, or end up further back. None of these reasons applies to your build. We remove both health and mana back on use. The moving further back is just annoying, except if you have lunge up in which case it’s less of a hassle. Maybe I am missing something here?

  2. Devouring orb - While leveling, I feel like the mana cost, and time to cast it, is just not worth it. Apart from the global damage, I don’t feel like it does much to help us. The void res is nice, if you need it. We do get 28% void res just from passive points. Getting the rest can be done on basically one crafted item, so we don’t really need it. Maybe I am missing something here?
Note: I do not really have a good alternative to this ability, just wanted to get my thoughts out on the matter. Maybe Vengeance for more defensive stats, or Rive when you are, inevitably, oom

  3. VK passive points - Why do we prioritize world hunger over abyssal endurance (AE)? Seems to me abyssal endurance offers way more flexibility. If I just move all 6 points from world hunger to AE, we would get:

    • 56 hp
    • 28% void res
    • 28% phys res

I guess you could argue that leech is good, though I would feel safer going for “static” EHP, rather then dynamic in the sense I have to do something in order to have the defense. If you really want leech, a tier 2 gives roughly 10% melee leech (not us much as the node, but combined with the resistances and flat HP, I feel it should be better). Again, am I missing something obvious here?

Quick things that are wrong:

  • Most links to gear planner are incorrect.
    • Level 4 links correctly.
    • Level 9 links to same as level 4
    • Level 12 links to same as level 4
    • Level 19 links to same as level 4
    • Level 42 links to same as level 34
    • Level 49 links to same as level 34

Always happy to see you putting out guides. Glad to see people doing their outmost for the community.

Volatile Reversal gives 36% Attack speed and movespeed for a duration equal to the amount of time you go back. Taking ancient reversal makes this 4 seconds which allows you to not only keep that buff longer but stack it as you can use volatile reversal more than 1x per 4s especially when proc the kill CD.

It also gives +20% Movespeed which makes warpath feel slightly better. Of course the mana cost should matter if you 2 hand weapon, warpath is 0 channel cost, and your getting mana back every 3 seconds. But yes its swappable with something else if you like, its not a make or break skill for the build.

Leech is very powerful, dont underestimate it  Also there was no need for the void res at you 75% from devouring orb. But yes passives are free to swap around.

Hmm not sure why this happened, i no longer have the links so i will just delete the ones that dont belong. THanks for the heads up

Glad to hear your enjoying it and that your making it better!

Edit: I found the original list of links, all have been fixed, not sure why they got messed up. Thanks

I was not aware of the interaction that the longer you go back in time, the longer the buff stays on. Good to know, thanks for clarifying that for me!

I agree that the movement speed makes Warpath feel smoother. The issue is we get the mana back every 3rd second node rather late, making Devouring Orb (DO), clunky to use prior to that. This is just my opinion though, could obviously be wrong here.

I might just be wrong here. Leech does feel good after some testing from my side. Especially since you are close to combat/minions all the time, you do get hit a lot. I might just not have noticed the difference it does.

Again, thanks for the answers, and good that you found build planners for all levels! Nice work, @boardman21

Hi.
Great guide, im following it for my first build en LE. Just reached Lvl 13, will you update it to 0.83, because can’t see skill placement anymore

Sentinel will get all new leveling guides yes but thats some time away at least a week.

Boardman, thx dude for this build.
Seems that with 0.83 some nerfs hit the sentinel.
Lunge seems to be nerfed… or better i feel like it is. We will see maybe my gear must be overworked.
I love ur guides Boardman, pls go on with them

thx dude for ur work

cheers Lucio

Hi, first of all thanks for your guides.
As I started with 0.8.3 I wonder if anyone has tipps on what to use instead of tactician with the 0.8.3 rework of the Lunge skill tree?

Theres a new 1 to 75 void knight for 8.3 although atm dont recall if I used lunge

Ok, found it. Will try to respec.
Thanks a lot.
