If you check the Discord, someone has been working this weekend.
My internet service provider is Converge. I am getting disconnected after 1 minute of playing after logging in. I tried to use a different ISP Smart, from my phone and hotspot my PC and I never get disconnected. I never had issues with my Converge ISP with other online games just with Last Epoch.
(Monday 26, Feb. 12:30CET) Lets give the game another shot, to my surprise I get through all the connection messages. Awesome! Now Iām loaded into town, literally 20 seconds later a popup āYouāve disconnected from the serversā. The issue with the servers has been around for many months, I personally and many others gave feedback about laggy movement and excessive loading into zones.
Well, itās just āsurvivingā. I played on US servers 90% of time since EUW has been down forever.
Smart people will simply try whatever server works.
Smarter people are in end game in offline mod wondering why Circle of prophecies is so OP and then they remember āoh yeah online is here with people who whant to trade instead of lootā
restart your router and try again, if you have a static ip adress from internet providerā¦change it.
Yet not everyone has access to Discord, so thatās a TERRIBLE platform to disseminate info to your customers.
What is the point of this thread if your only putting information up on discord?
What a piss poor way of communicating. I have come to your site to the official thread about the launch and there hasnāt been any updates coming on 48 hours now.
Why is communication so hard, I canāt even trust you to communicate effectively how in the hell am I supposed to trust you to run this game for years?
This entire week has been absolutely pathetic on your part.
You dumbo, DEVās DO NOT work on the weekendsā¦
Nor do they work on the evenings, the evenings are more likely to receive updates since there are devs all over the worldā¦
But weekend is still weekend all over the worldā¦
Their updates are without dates, these updates are over a week, there are other updates that are missing as wellā¦
Devs do not work on weekendsā¦
In approx 5 hours 30 minutes, the devs will updateā¦
9AM CT time is when the devs start working.
Some 8:30AM
They were working over the weekend. Although this thread doesnāt have all the updates, it has most of them, including the last one posted at 3:54 pm ET yesterday.
There is a significant number of players using Discord, so itās a perfectly legitimate place to post updates.
Dear lord, itās like you people exist solely to complain.
Ok, I get it, devs USUALLY donāt work during weekend. But from my experience, when something important is ahead, companies usually do overtimes to handle extra work.
The problem is that EHG was very confident about their release and proclaimed that they would be very active in sharing information with us players.
During the weekend, there was significantly less information shared, so probably even less work from other employees (contractors)ā¦ Thatās something that my company would be ashamed of.
Iām not sure I got all of that, but I recognize that itās frustrating, but it is just a game.
I have been one of the lucky ones in that Iāve been able to play online since opening day. Has it been perfect, no, but it has been playable.
Iām a casual gamer, so I donāt put the many hours into the game as some of you might, but Iāve still got my character to level 60-ish even with all the issues.
Itās a great game, thatās a lot of fun to play. Theyāll get the online aspect of it working smoothly soon enough for everyone to have their fun.
Incorrect, Devās are never to work on weekends.
I admit there are a few that go above and beyond. But for changes to be made, code reviews must be done - multiple approvals for said code, code then has to go through testing etc before its made into a merge request.
Which means there has to be 2 people from ever department to look over it.
Its too difficult to get the synergy like this, this is why they implemented a short fix on friday to get the queues working, so it is in āWorking orderā this this week they hopefully with sort out the automation for connecting and transitioning throughout each zones.
I run datacenters, and I guarantee you, when it comes to serving the public/consumers anything internet/access/host based, we most certainly work any and all times in this industry. Be that weekends, evenings, the middle of the night, or Christmas day. What you are saying is the same as saying, they donāt work at the jails and prisons on the weekend.
If these devs want their product to succeed, I guarantee to you that they have had some sort of rotation in effect all through the weekend looking at these issues. Comp time is easy to deal with at a later date, but this week was release week of their main product theyāve been working on for 6 years. Iām pretty sure they were prepared for 15-18 hour days 7 days a week if necessary. The future of a small company lives or dies on that extra overtime for a few weeks.
The servers were much better last night after their 2nd round of updates over the weekend. They seem OK now too given how quiet discord is. They were working all weekend, the news posts may have been less, but thatās probably because they had everyone looking at the issues. I do hope some people who review bombed the game change their reviews on steam. Was it annoying sure, would I still recommend the game to my friends 100% the game is great.
You will still have that small percent, at least we hope itās small, that couldnāt play immediately on release day, got angry, flung poo at the walls in their house, got a refund, and review bombed. They will not return. The real problem are those who did the same, but did NOT get a refund, and will conveniently forget to go back and change their review.
One way or another, it seems that with all of the people playing, this game got the word out despite what the current Steam reviews say. 260k people playing at the same time over much of the weekend. Thatās a pretty successful launch for a first game from a brand new developer. Even if it all did start with part timers and as a weekend passion project.
If you are not interested in offline, offline is not an option. This refrain āgame works perfectly offline, play offlineā makes no sense. Most people have their chars in legacy and if they donāt want to reroll for the cycle, they donāt want to reroll offline either.
But even for whoever is new, if they want to play online for whatever reason, offline is again not an option, since they than canāt port their offline char to online for obvious reasons.
TLDR: the game MUST work online too, if its not working customers have all the rights to complain (in a polite way).
There product works, just not efficiently.
Fridays patch allowed them to push backend changes that would allow somewhat of a flow of players.
They will not work on the weekend, any updates you see are from last week and early Saturday.
People need recuperation time right?, and no amount of money is worth the sanity.
Devs are not obligated to work on the weekends or the evenings, if you look at the time stamps you could figure out that the updates are over a week, starting from 8:30am and aending at 5:30pm.
If its broke, it will still be broken tomorrow.
Lets do a quick patch, a happy path until we can fix the containers as a whole.
Datacentres are a different case compared to developersā¦
Again your analogy makes no sense.
