Thanks for the input. Upon looking at the set for half a second longer I realized the set includes a 2h weapon which would kill Shield Throw anyway and I hadn’t thought about the fact you’d have to consistently cast Forge Strike to generate the things.
I’m not sure if this has been answered yet, but +# to Rive doesn’t actually do anything, what you care about is the second line of the affix, which is “increased melee damage.” Manifest armor benefits greatly from this. Let’s say the affix rolls with 100% increased melee damage, that adds 300% total increased melee damage to the Manifest armor because everything on a body armor has 200% increased effect (Platemail skill on Manifest armor).
This is the same reason why you take any affix on your helmet that adds “increased melee damage” as well.
I am only at lvl62 and this build is a blast! Is there a bug in the javelin/lunge node or am I missing something because I never dash to the standard even tho I took that node? Thanks for a great build, need to get to sigils still…
Thanks for sharing it’s a very nice build. Does Apathy only drop from orobyss or can it drop from unique nodes on timelines as well?
Oops, combo, hit the button twice…duh…rofl
Only from Orobyss… Min area level 65
Apathy’s Maw drops at 50+ Corruption, in any timeline. Hence, better go in empowered timelines.
Yip… but you need 65 for Legendary Potential… (according to Dammits website )
No, that’s just a number that goes into an equation to calculate the LP, it’s not an actual level required or anything.
Unsure, probably because the information is available and can be used by people “who know”.
See this: 8.4 Legendary Potential Guide - Last Epoch - YouTube
- It’s clearly stated in db that it’s “Effective Level for Legendary Potential”, it’s not “min zone level”, not sure where this idea comes from
- It might be useful for comparison sake
- Why not
Hey, why do you prefer javelin over ring of shields?
I personally dont like using RoS because it takes ricochets from the shield throw meaning you dont ricochet the MA as much = less spinny spinny damage… It still works and makes your char more defensive but its frustrating…
Hi, RoS also provides a source of healing and he took the Passives to trigger RoS, so he will have them flying around anyway.
The passive is only a 3% RoS chance (if I recall correctly)… in my experience it virtually never procs… As I understand it, the OP took the passive for the 150% increase for minions…
As I said before (and in detail in the above thread), RoS makes you much more defensive so yes, you heal and get defensive options but you have to be willing to sacrifice hitting the MA i.e. damage… I am currently using it and testing out ways it can work, like not taking +shield nodes but it still catches 1/3 of my MA hits (subjectively) so that a lot of less damage overall…
And I have found that the Javelin healing is pretty adequate in all but the harder boss fights…
Just to add on to what vapour has said, i took a gander at the RoS tree and I assume you are getting the heal on shield death node.
Disregarding the loss of damage from your shield throw ricocheting off your shields, the heal is only on shield death. So if your shields don’t die when you want them to, you don’t get healed. Javelin on the other hand, heals you as long as you stand in its AOE while providing damage and armour per attunement. Just this fact alone is alone is worth taking jav over RoS.
Even if you ignore the above, RoS has a high mana cost and a long cooldown. While mana may not be a problem, it will be when you get a decent amount of throwing speed on both rings (assuming you’re also using the 3 ricochet shield throw which has 7 mana cost instead of 4). Keep in mind we have to cast sigils which are 27 mana as well.
Also keep in mind javelin also functions as our movement skill. Without it, goodluck moving out of julra’s void degen.
There’s the Healing Shields node that should help every 3 seconds but is currently bugged.
Hi, thanks for the replies. That makes it clearer. I was referring to the nodes llama mentioned, but now I have a better understanding. Thank you
Hey, would you be able to do a (short) build guide or showcase for your devo smite character? It’s one I’m working towards and I’m interested to see how the attunement stacking looks
