[0.8.2D] Very frequent crashes

Hello, I bought this game recently and unfortunately I have many crashes, at a point that it’s starting to become quite annoying.

Yesterday on previous patch I had some problems during character selection that I solved by updating drivers and restarting my PC, allowing me to play up to 3 hours with no problems whatsoever.

However, after today’s patch I have been experiencing frequent and seemingly random crashes on area transition, on opening the skill panel and on clearing mobs in a normal area. Furthermore, sometimes the crashes also have an effect on other programs that are running in background (such as Discord, Steam, Chrome and even explorer.exe) making them crash as well.

Here are the logs of the most recent crash:
error.log (72.4 KB)
Player.log (84.7 KB)

Here is the DxDiag file containing all the information regarding my machine:
DxDiag.txt (106.4 KB)
I have noticed that in the Diagnostic section of this file, there are multiple Windows Error Reporting containing all the apps that crashed simultaneously with Last Epoch.

Regarding in-game settings, I use Medium master quality, with V-Sync on, Antialiasing off and Detail Shadow off.

I have validated the game files on Steam multiple times to no avail, so at the moment I don’t know what the problem might be.

Any suggestion on how to fix these issues? I’m enjoying the game so this is very disheartening.

Thanks.

Hey, Welcome to the forums…

Sorry you are having hassles…

Some suggestions based on the information you have provided:

  1. One of the first things to do to test instability is to remove any other things that could be affecting the game or using your system resources at the same time… So… I would suggest that you shutdown or disable any other applications while you are playing LE - i.e. only have Steam and LE running - nothing else… The reason I suggest this is that there are many things that have been found to cause problems and some of them seem totally irrelevent at first glance… Things like Steam Overlays, graphics card overlays, screen capture software, etc. Even a browser - hardware accellerated viewing of a webpage “steals” resources and makes your system work harder. There have been reports that things like Cirtix and Teamviewer have conflicts with the underlying technology that LE uses… So switch everything off and see if the game stability increases… If it does, then switching things back on, one by one will hopefully find the culprit.

  2. There are potential issues with vsync… Change to the framerate limiting option instead and do not leave it unlimited… set it to your monitor Hz or less. Monitor your GPU usage to guage what would be a good rate to set it at - you dont want your GPU flatlined at 100% usage all the time while playing.

  3. The devs would have to look closer at the error/player log but there is something I dont recall seeing before “UnityPalGetTimeZoneDataForID” and apparently a quick google shows this started happening for some people in April after a Windows Update… I am wondering if you need to run Windows Update and see if there is anything there… You may also want to run System file checker just to make sure the system files are all updated… I DOUBT this is the issue but barring anything else its worth a try.
