I know it’s probably considered such a minor thing, but I’d love to zoom my camera out a bit more. It doesn’t have to be by a huge margin but when I have spells that can fire off further than my screen can show it feels a little too tight. Also might create fewer deaths from off screen.
Also could cause balance issues considering all the ranged abilities for player and enemies have been designed around the current camera view.
Let’s be honest, there already are balance issues. With my VK I can hold down my smite key while walking and it hits things way off screen. I can do the same thing with LB. You can throw down ballistas that shoot off screen for you.
Edit: I also remembered ranged wraiths builds, but the acolyte has a whole lot of other “balance issues” and the damage of that build is quite subpar.
True. But such a change would simply increase those exact balance issues, making those skill even more unbalanced.
Either way, it’s not too likely to happen because letting you zoom out would just consume more resources, which isn’t something you want happening when the game already has FPS issues in several spots for many players.
Yea, it would definitely require having a max range on certain skills like traversals which seem to be anywhere you can click to, and for skills such as already mentioned. It can be implemented in a way that care is taken to make the game a little friendlier from that standpoint, though the latency issues are a separate problem.
I know it’s the most back burner of possibilities, but I do find the camera zoom way tighter than any arpg I’ve played. I’d still like to see it change (hopefully for the better), but I also know with everything else happening in the company it wouldn’t be any time soon, if ever. At best I can add it to suggestions and hope it’s seen / considered.
