Returning to my character, when I logged in, most of the interface was missing. Map, bottom menu including skill buttons, and esc (settings etc) menu were all gone. I could still get to the inventory and character menus with their hotkeys though. Killing the game from the taskbar (since I couldn’t get to the Exit button) and restarting fixed it.
