Words of a former arpg player PART 1

DEATH PENALITY

The achievement of reaching level 100, something almost unthinkable in other games, I took more than 2 years of playing path of exile to reach level 100, the feeling of achieving it cannot be explained in words, and of course for it a system of experience penalty after death would be necessary

REMOVE UNNECESARY EFFECTS

Remove unnecessary effects or at least give us the option to hide them.when you hit with some skills, for example (wraith of summoner), a totally unnecessary white flash comes out, which is against the general aesthetics of the video game, death effects, many particles and blows that can be one of the causes of the game abusing the use of the gpu, but we’ll talk about that later

ADJUST COLORS

Adjusts the color so that the composition is uniform, for example, in act 1 there are some purple mobs, but it is a very strong purple, too much considering the rest of the dull, pale composition

UPDATING SUPPORTED PACKS IS NOT ATTRACTIVE

If you need money, launch skins, I would like to support but I do not see attractive updating the supported packs since I get more points that I do not even know where I can spend them

EXORBITAN CONSUMPTION OF GPU

I know that normally the arpg consume more cpu since all the calculations made by the cpu of damage is abundant but it is the first time that I see an arpg so predatory of gpu, I have tried with several graphs and they all go to the limit, I feel that they can be the amount of nonsense effects that the video game added and in my opinion they weigh down the experience,
a quick solution to this is the implementation of dynamic resolution scaling apart from allowing us to disable those effects and annoying particles, but yes, in general the performance is so bad, basically the game will eat your gpu

EXTRAS

The map is not intuitive, it is confusing, apart they could add the level of all the areas of the map

When playing summoner I feel like I would need more slots skills

Music is boring

For the rest, I can not talk much about the endgame and others because I am new, I will launch new feedback as my hours of play increase, greetings to all

Death penalty Will be added in a future patch before game release.
REMOVE UNNECESARY EFFECTS There is an option in settings, scroll all the way down on the gameplay tab, and you can uncheck the box “enemies flash when hit” to remove that effect.
UPDATING SUPPORTED PACKS IS NOT ATTRACTIVE The cosmetic store is not ready to be fully implemented yet, it’s coming in the future.
EXORBITAN CONSUMPTION OF GPU there has been many graphic updates, and optimizations, and more coming in the future. Amd radeon just recently collaberated with 11th hour games to improve gpu performance across their gpu’s so expect many more gpu performance and fixes in the future.

Death penalty
It took you 2 years, I’ve never done it (I hate grinding) and there are people in PoE that do it in days/weeks (with a death penalty).

Supporter packs

As Bankaikiller said, the mtx shop isn’t implemented yet.

I would be okay with an EXP death penalty provided there were certain carve outs – such as it did not apply to deaths in the Arena. Unless you bail out, you’re guaranteed to die when you reach your limit of waves, so a death penalty would negate one of the main drives of Arena (faster EXP gains) and would chill wanting to participate in Ladder.

As for launching skins or providing incentive to buy/upgrade supporter packs – I’d much rather EHG continue to focus their resources on finishing all of the classes/subclasses and get multiplayer/dual wielding into the game. I trust my points will be useable down the road. Funding the game through kickstarter or beta is, by its nature, a leap of faith.

Isn’t it good to have no death penalty in beta right now so we can test out the system and strength of passive trees etc without having to hardcore grind? If the devs say that this was a final game design choice?

But isn’t there already a death penalty in the game in a way ?
If you die your MoF progression is erased by a certain number.
I’d prefer to have such a method of death penalty implemented in all the different endgame content than a XP death penalty.

Please oh please reconsider adding death penalties. I’m enjoying so much that there’s hardly any death penalties right now. The death penalties in PoE is one of the big drawbacks for me. It would absolutely ruin the experience for me if there were death penalties, especially ones that effect exp.

I’ll second that. PoE’s exp penalty on death is the main reason why none of my characters on there have gone above 90 in all the years I’ve played that game. I really don’t want another game that refuses to let me progress just because my build doesn’t have a 100% guarantee against player death.

exactly…never made it higher then 96 in 3200 hours in PoE. I don’t care the achiev is not relevant to me. Not every game needs a deathpenalty…if you want a real deathpenalty play hardcore and not like hardcore is being played in PoE with a macro to logout.

Theony problem with PoE death penaties where that they were too high, from level 98 you could literally wipe out 6 hours of mapping by 1 death. I made my first 100 last league after playing for 3 months and this was my second league, never again woul i even think of trying that lol

Having a DP can be a good thing as long as it is not an all consuming punishment that forces you to rethink playing lol

I am looking forward to starting to play LE (when Rl gives me some time) but will be following the updates avidly

Please no deathpenalty if you keep the Monolith penalty aswell.
There are so many penaltys in this game already… it costs a lot of gold to fully respec the tree.
It costs levels and time to respec skills. Were does it end?

I actually think the color contrast is nessesary - if they were the same color as the background you would not see them at all.

This is not my issue with map, mine is that IT IS TOO ZOOMED IN, you can only tell one or two screens away, which barely helps you know where you have been or where you are going.
