If you make the hud disappear with the delete button you don’t see any UI elements, including the minimap. So far so good. You can then run around the map as usual, and then press delete to bring the hud back up. You’d expect your minimap to reflect the parts of the map you’ve traversed, but instead it only updates the location around you, and doesn’t show anywhere else you’ve been. This way you can wind up with location A revealed on the minimap (where you started), location B revealed (where you are now), but missing minimap for the path between them.
