I love the idea of 2h maces, you trade attack speed for way more damage in those slower hits. However it seems like the reduced attack speed in the maces is too crippling to a majority of builds.
While a 2h mace does have the highest implicit flat melee damage of all weapons in the game, the loss of attack speed not only has to be equalled by the increase, which I believe it doesnt. But there needs to be a fix for ailment stacking with them.
While every DoT build rightfully avoids maces, the big damage crit builds tend to do the same. Things like Armour Shred, which increase the flat damage of attacks to enemies, are harder to inflict with a slower attack speed. It makes it feel like maces are bad for DoT builds, but also for hit/crit.
I understand that 2h Maces are probably designed for and built around attacks that scale with CDR instead of Attack Speed, but ive found that for the most-part, the 2h Mace is quite niche because of this, and to top it off, alot of builds that use CDR Attacks still prefer different weapon types or uniques that have much better stats for that attack.
I would like to see some sort of change to Maces, even a slight buff, but I would understand if that didnt happen. Not only is it a niche issue but also isnt important in terms of things that need to be changed. It could also just be that more 2h Mace uniques are on their way, and will change this.
Anyway, sorry for rambling but I really want to make a 2h Mace build, even though I dont want to make a CDR scaling build lol. Thanks for listening! <3
