New player here, Shaman is the first class i play in this game until end game, until I find out it is the worst class to play. Cold totems Shaman (Springgan form, Summon Spriggan, Storm totem, Thorn totem, Warcry totem), there is 0 best in slot legendary item except for using Exalted.
Coming from GrimDawn ARPG, they provide many different variety of Set item which is much more useful than LastEpoch, where it can make rare build viable at end game. While LastEpoch class skill tree might look interesting, but there are some skills that makes synergy but no viable equipment to support this synergy to be playable in end game.
I would like the team to make more variety of item set, or give at least one legendary that can make some rare build viable at end game. Not sure about other class but people can list down the build that make sense, but not viable for endgame content.
In this game thereās no such thing as āBest in Slotā for a particular mastery or even skill. Thatās kind of the point to be honest. Your build decisions, nodes you take, and gear you find all determine what you character does.
In other games the grind becomes a long form fetch quest to find these five specific dropped pieces of gear and then just equipping those and youāre done. While this does have its place in other games (Chronicon, D3, Grim Dawn) it would not fit in last epoch.
Edit: Also I just want to note, there are plenty of uniques that are very build enabling. They range from weak to strong.
This is really strong for totem builds. You can easily get 100% crit chance on your totems.
The other piece of the set isnāt great, but it will give you +1 to totem skills and half the Int you need to get to 100% crit. (That is for Thorn Totem with the Lethal Thicket node).
I usually build it physical and as a Druid. Both Druid and Shaman donāt offer much for totems when chosen as the mastery. Druid has the attunement to Crit Avoidance node and Shaman gets the -5 totem cost.
There can be. If youāre doing a multistrike build, youāll probably want to use Aurelis (for a while at least). To say such a broad sweeping statement feels quite odd.

Agree with your concept, I like how LastEpoch offer to be able to customize/reroll prefixes and subfixes of Exalted item.
Iām just suggesting that there is not enough Unique (to be evolved to Legendary) item that can provide for all the variety builds, which makes it pointless to play āoff-metaā build that does not have a legendary that can boost these builds. These builds are either lacking of some DPS, sustainability, or can be easily countered by specific bosses. While there is Werebear Druid who can just one trick all build with just one skill
Great suggestion, but it is not what iām pointing out. Thorn totem provide cold damage build path, but there isnāt really a unique item that can boost the cold damge of thorn totem synergy build/skills
Each skill specialization has about 4 branches that you can choose to build and synergize with other skill with similar effects. However the game only provide a few item to support 1~3 out of 4 branch of builds. The one that is left out will become the āoff-metaā / not-viable for end game builds, which is what i find frustrating. Variety is fun, but if it is not playable, why create variety at the first place?
After re-adjusting this Cold totem shaman build, it has higher minion freeze rate to be played at end-game content now. However it is still boring when i have to fight god of sea Lagon as he is immune freezing which is the main point of Cold totem shaman build.
I would suggest to have item(s) that can make this build penetrate the freeze immunity or increase damage to enemy who is immune to freezing. Otherwise, what is the point of building these cold freeze skills when i can just choose Druid and then use Werebear to all content?
Edit: A buff to āFreezingā status would be nice as well, example freezed enemies take % increased damage. This will make all Cold freeze build become popular especially in multiplayer where the freeze % damage is applicable for all party member. If it is too broken online, which can be then further adjust the % damage in multiplayer according to how many player in party,
