its been nearly 5months since game launch and why is the lag spike (fps drop) still so bad… i tried so many fix few months ago, i didn’t complain much coz the game just launched, i played like 300 hours with the bad lag, my average fps was like between 20-40, my pc isn’t the best but it can still run diablo 4 on ultra settings at 80 fps, i just log back in the game to clear space for new cycle start and find out the lag still exist after been away for few months, gotta say this is really disappoint…
This is honestly the biggest detractor of this game to me. I played the first cycle but ended up moving back to D4 in part because I had accomplished my goals but also because the performance in this game is insane for what you get. 144 fps down to 20 just because you’re actually playing the game. I ended up having to not group with friends, restart every few hours, do all the things recommended from various places and still had poor performance.
Meanwhile, same situation, load up D4 and play on ultra with nary a drop ever. It’s crazy to me this isn’t talked about more and addressed
It is addressed, though. Mike is always saying on his stream, when asked about this, that they’re always working on improving the server infrastructure, how the game deals with it, etc.
Remember that improvements aren’t just good for players, it’s also good for them because it will lower server costs.
D4 has many years of experience in this field and they have the budget to dump into it, so it’s natural that you don’t feel performance issues.
EHG is still learning as they go, so there are still things that aren’t working as desired. But they’re constantly working to improve them.
So it’s not true that they’re not addressed.

Guess I need to check out the stream more then. I see some forum threads etc but nothing really concrete or a roadmap or current thoughts. Then again I am newer to this space then D4 so maybe there’s that
They don’t usually reply to these questions on the forum. I’m sure they do on discord sometimes.
The weekly streams are something Mike does every friday where he playes LE and answers questions from the community. And this is one that is asked a lot. You can usually see digest versions of his stream on youtube. AaronRPG usually does it every week, for example.
